A footage taken at noon on the 22nd showed a lava stream formed by the convergence of magma into the sea. The hot lava reacts with seawater, rising into white smoke. The local government issued an alert saying that hydrochloric acid and water vapor carry a variety of particles into the air, coupled with sulfur dioxide formed by volcanic eruptions, may cause lung damage and pose a variety of health risks to the eyes, skin, etc., so residents of the three coastal towns are required to stay indoors, close their doors and windows, and do not go out.

According to reports, a large amount of magma erupted from the volcano has formed 7 lava flows, and 3 of them eventually flow into the sea. Spain's volcano monitoring department also said that due to bad weather conditions, the airport on the island was still unable to operate as of the 22nd, and people could only take boats to and from La Palma Island.

Spanish geologists said that although the magmatic activity of the La Palma Island volcano, which erupted since September 19 local time, has weakened, it will not stop erupting in the short term. So far, the eruption has caused more than 7,000 residents on the island to temporarily leave their homes, but fortunately no one has been killed. In addition, more than 2,600 buildings have been destroyed, many roads, fields and banana plantations have been swallowed up by magma, and according to incomplete statistics, the economic damage caused by the volcanic eruption is 900 million euros, or about 6.5 billion yuan. So far, the Spanish government has announced that it will provide assistance of 225 million euros, or about 1.6 billion yuan.
