Date Masamune arrived in Odawara on June 5, but was not immediately received by Hideyoshi, but was left by Hideyoshi in the bottom warehouse of Hakone Mountain.
Date Masamune was forced to surrender
From June 6 to 8, for three consecutive days, Hideyoshi sent five people, including Maeda Toshika, Asano Nagamasa, and Shikinin Jeonmune, to ask Masamune every day about matters such as "why did he come so late to join the battle" and "why he fought with the Ashina clan in violation of the General Order of Nothing." On June 9, Hideyoshi summoned Date Masamune to a tea party, and Masamune, dressed in a white robe for cutting his abdomen, prostrated himself in front of the table and said, "Masamune is ready to commit suicide. Hideyoshi tapped his head with his cane in front of many daimyo, "I'm in a good mood today, I won't pursue anything in the past, but if you take another step late, then this head won't be saved." However, Hideyoshi still made a judgment: confiscating the land of Ashina and Sendō that Date Masamune had conquered in the seventeenth year of Tenshō, only giving Masamune 720,000 stones before the war, and said to Masamune, "If you are not satisfied, you can immediately return to Japan to prepare for war, and when I destroy Hojo, I will rush to the peace of Mutsu." ”

Hideyoshi was extremely satisfied with his answer, and immediately gave Masamune a piece of feather weaving, and then dragged him up the hill to guide the positions deployed under Odawara Castle.
On June 25, Hideyoshi asked Date Masamune to return to China first to prepare for the delivery of the domain. Afterwards, some people thought that this was an act of releasing the tiger back to the mountain, but Hideyoshi said, "I just want to provoke Masamune to raise an army and take all his territory." However, since then, date Masamune has been extremely cautious and has not shown any desire to confront Hideyoshi.
Although the siege was getting longer and longer, the Toyotomi offensive and food showed no signs of depletion, and as the distant castles fell one by one, there was gradually a wave of wavering emotions in Odawara Castle.
At the beginning of June, the Narita clan in the castle briefly passed through the song of Shōba and Hideyoshi, preparing to make an appointment with Uchiha, but was eventually suspended for fear of revealing his form.
On June 16, Kasahara Masayoshi, the eldest son of Hojo Shigetoshi Matsuda Kenhide, gathered several Hojo Regents and prepared to contact the Toyotomi Army and bring Hosokawa Tadao and Ikeda Keimasa into the city. However, he was denounced by one of his associates, Itabae Okae Yukisai, and eventually Kasahara Masayoshi was executed by the Hojo clan, and his father, Kenhide Matsuda, was taken into custody.
On June 23, a combined army of 15,000 men, including Maeda Toshiya, Uesugi Keisatsu, and Sanada Masayuki, captured Hachioji Castle, north of Odawara Castle. This castle was the residence of Hojo Clan Shō, the second brother of the Hojo clan, who remained in Odawara Castle at that time. At the time of the fall, more than 1,000 people guarding the castle, including Hojo Clan Shōmu Hizo, were slaughtered. The Toyotomi army then placed all the decapitated heads under Odawara Castle, further hitting the morale of the Hojo side.
On June 26, at the summit of Mount Kasa, southwest of Odawara Castle, a castle appeared overnight, causing the defenders of Odawara Castle to panic even more about Hideyoshi's strength.
In fact, Hideyoshi mobilized 30,000 or 40,000 people and spent about 80 days secretly building the castle on the top of the mountain. Since the top of the mountain was full of trees, Odawara Castle could not be detected for a while, and when the castle was completed, Hideyoshi asked people to cut down all the trees on the top of the mountain overnight, and a one-night city appeared. Because this castle uses a large number of Ishigaki, it is called "Ishigaki Mountain Castle".

Originally, with the scale and preparation of Odawara Castle, even if it was not difficult to hold it for another year and a half, once fear arose, it would interfere with people's normal judgment and established plans. Toyotomi Hideyoshi's "one-night castle" tactic was almost tried and tested, and not long ago in Chikuzen crushed Akizuki's fighting spirit. This time, the fighting spirit of the Hojo clan and their retainers also collapsed in front of the sudden appearance of Ishigaki Yama castle.
By the end of June, the castle of Ryoyama, which was guarded by the Hojo clan, the bowl-shaped castle guarded by the Hojo clan, and the Iwase castle guarded by the Ota clan (the third son of the Hojo clan) had been surrendered to the Toyotomi army. In early July, Hideyoshi, with the Ota clan and the Hojo clan as messengers, persuaded Odawara Castle to surrender.
On July 5, the Hojo clan went straight to his father-in-law Tokugawa Ieyasu and offered to cut his abdomen in exchange for the lives of the castle soldiers, and then Ieyasu took the clan straight to Hideyoshi to determine the final conditions for Kaesong.
On July 7, Kataki, Yasuji Wakosaka, and Tokugawa Ietake entered Odawara Castle as envoys.
On July 11, under the supervision of Yasumasa Kamibara, the Hojo clan was appointed as the intermediary, and the hojo clan and the Hojo clan, two brothers, committed suicide as the main war criminals in the Bansho under Odawara Castle. Also ordered to commit suicide were Kenhide Matsuda and the hojo family's traitor, DaichiJi Masashige.
The Hojo clan was still able to defend but surrendered in a hurry, and eventually perished
As a result of Tokugawa Ieyasu's intercession, the Hojo clan and the two Ota clan brothers, as well as hojo clan members, were banished to Mount Kono, Kii, and only the Hojo clan was adopted as vassals by the Maeda Toshiya clan. The Hojo clan, the overlord of the Seven Kingdoms of Kanto, was destroyed.
