To celebrate the 100th birthday of Mr. Yang Zhenning, on the afternoon of September 22, Tsinghua University, the University of Chinese of Hong Kong and the Physical Society jointly held the "Mr. Yang Zhenning Academic Thought Seminar" to congratulate Professor Yang Zhenning on his 100th birthday.

He is a member of the Jiusan Society, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, a famous nuclear physicist, a pioneer and founder of China's nuclear weapons research and development work, and has made important contributions to the research and development of Nuclear Weapons and Atomic Weapons in China.
Deng Jiaxian is the main organizer and leader of China's nuclear weapons development and development; he has always been at the forefront of China's weapons manufacturing, led many scholars and technicians, successfully designed China's atomic and hydrogen bombs, and led China's national defense and self-defense weapons to the world's advanced level.
At that time, Yang Zhenning saw in american newspapers that the great man sent an airplane to northern Shaanxi to bring the American physicist Han Chun to Beijing to help build the atomic bomb, and during a four-week visit in 1971, he always wanted to verify whether the story of Han Chun's participation in the research and development of China's atomic bomb was true or false, but this was a sensitive issue, and it was difficult for him to open his mouth. When he was about to leave, Yang Zhenning finally couldn't resist asking his friend Deng Jiaxian, wondering whether the atomic bomb was built by our country itself and whether there were any foreigners to help.
That year, Deng Jiaxian wrote a long letter to Yang Zhenning, saying that he had verified that China's atomic bomb was basically free of foreigners. At the end of the letter, Deng Jiaxian wrote: May people be long and have a common path for thousands of miles. At that time, he did not understand this sentence, and 50 years later, Yang Zhenning responded to Deng Jiaxian's letter and said: "I think that fifty years later, I can say to Deng Jiaxian: Jiaxian, I understand the meaning of your 'common way', and I can confidently tell you that my next fifty years will be in line with your vision of the 'common way', and I believe you will be satisfied." ”
