From the south gate of the provincial government through the provincial capital West Street, Shuangzhongci Street about 200 meters to the west, there is a south-facing street on Shuangzhongci Street, named: West Iron Corner; and in the middle of the street, there is a spring well in the courtyard of No. 34, which was recently named by the relevant departments: Iron Spring.

Iron Spring, located in the northwest of the courtyard of No. 34 West Iron Corner Lane, Quancheng Road Street, Lixia District, in front of the North House, is a newly discovered spring well during the Jinan Spring Water Census in March 2021. The spring is round in appearance and is a masonry-stone well with a diameter of about 1 meter.
It is understood that now residents have not often used this spring well, the wellhead is protectively covered, open the cover, only to see that the spring water inside is clear, the water surface is about 1 meter away from the well, and the well wall is covered with green moss. On the south side of the ancient well, there is a thick pomegranate tree, and the branches are circling, echoing the ancient well.
This spring was originally an unnamed spring. In 2021, it was named "Iron Spring" because of the street where it was located. The West Iron Corner was formerly known as the "Iron Corner", which was named after the shape of an iron. Street names appeared in the late Qing Dynasty. Qing Guangxu's ugly year (1889) "Provincial City Streets and Alleys" was first marked with "iron corner".

Why?
Because, according to the literature, this spring is not an unnamed spring, it has appeared nearly two hundred years ago. Moreover, its daimyō at that time was exactly: Iron Spring.
According to the author's opinion, the iron spring once appeared in the poems of Ma Guohan, a scholar and poet in Jinan in Jiaqing Daoguangjian in the Qing Dynasty.
Ma Guohan (1794-1857), zixi, zhuwu, originally from Zhangqiu, moved to Nanquan Fuzhuang (now Quanfuzhuang, an eastern suburb of Jinan) when his great-grandfather moved to Licheng Nanquan Mansion Zhuang (now Quanfuzhuang, an eastern suburb of Jinan). In the twelfth year of Daoguang (1833), he was admitted to the jinshi and successively served as a county in Shicheng, Shiquan, and Yunyang in Shaanxi, and had considerable political achievements. In 1838, he returned to his hometown on leave (Jieming Lake Gull Society was at this time), was promoted to Zhizhou in Longzhou, Shaanxi in 1844, Xianfeng retired from his home in three years (1853), and four years later, that is, Xianfeng Seven Years (1857), died in his hometown in Jinan, at the age of 64. Ma Guohan is the author of "Yuhan Shanfang Anthology" and "Yuhan Shanfang Poetry Collection". There is also a philological masterpiece "Yuhan Shanfang Jiyi Shu".

Iron Corner Street, in today's terms, is a typical "livable" place, it is adjacent to the Shandong Buzhengsi Compound (now the provincial capital) in the east, and the South Linyuan West Street (now Quancheng Road), life is extremely convenient. However, here is also a quiet feng shui treasure, it is a distance from the above two places, the common people say: not far away, and the north of Daming Lake, the air is fresh, and this lake is where their Gull Society poets often gather. However, the most satisfying thing for Ma Guohan is not these, but the iron spring, the spring water of the iron spring, Ma Guohan uses this fine spring water, with delicate and lovely new tea, pouring himself a drink, and enjoying it slowly, so that the idle years of reading behind closed doors here are extremely happy and happy, and he is determined to live such a free and free day.

Recently, the author once made a special trip to the iron spring to see the end, but saw that the spring water is very clear, and I can see people's faces and even eyebrows. Mr. Kou, a resident of the courtyard, said: The water quality of the iron spring is excellent, cool and sweet, and the water temperature is constant at 17 degrees Celsius all year round, and it never dries up. When Baotu Spring ran out of water a few years ago, the iron spring was still unabated, and in summer, the spring water was less than half a meter from the wellhead. Iron Spring also has a "special function", if the day is going to rain or change, it will "forecast", that is, its water will become very turbid. Finally, Mr. Kou said with deep emotion: This is the spring, this is the difference between the spring and the well!
In the Qing Dynasty, about the iron corner is not an ordinary street, it has a hotel, which should be related to its proximity to the Cloth Secretary Yamen, often visited by customers, Daoguangjian poet Xu Zonggan wrote a poem to the iron corner of the hotel.
Xu Zonggan (1796-1866), zi bozhen, yizi tree people. A native of Tongzhou (present-day Nantong City), Jiangsu Province, he was a jinshi in the 25th year of Qing Jiaqing (1820), and since the first year of Daoguang, he has successively served as the governor of Qufu, Wucheng and Tai'anzhi Counties in Shandong, moved to Gaotang, Jining Zhizhou, yanzhou, Daoguang 28 (1848), promoted to the prefect of Baoning in Sichuan, and concurrently served as the prefect of Chuanbei Province. Fang just left Jinan. Xu Zongganya good jinshi calligraphy and painting. However, this is the blessing of the iron spring, it has not been forgotten by history, nor has it been tampered with by history, it deserves to become a spring with historical and cultural connotations in Jinan!
