Dense! More than 50 million red crabs migrate in Australia, and their eyes are red everywhere they go

Christmas Island crews spent months in advance preparing for the red crab migration, building crab bridges and temporary barriers to ensure the crabs' safety. Dr. Tanya Deto, an invasive species project expert at Christmas Island, says they can predict the migration routes of red crabs, but that change slightly from year to year. Dr Deto also said the region had never seen so many migrating red crabs since 2005.
