When he first saw Ayideng TursunBek, the leader of the special technical team of a special combat brigade of the Xinjiang Military Region, Wu Feng, the fourth-level sergeant major, knew that he was "a natural material for being a special soldier."

Ayi Deng from the Kazakh ethnic group is 1 meter 88 tall, his skin is sunburned to a typical plateau red, and he walks with a wind under his feet. Under a camouflage suit, 23 scars bear witness to the courage and bloodiness of this special combat soldier. His most recent injury was in his right wrist, a drill last year, when Ayden spearheaded the charge and did not find a fractured right wrist and multiple muscle injuries on his body until the end of the mission.

In the 13 years since joining the army, Ayi Deng has participated in competitions at all levels 9 times and won the championship, and has successfully completed major tasks such as the "Sniper Border" international military competition and the "Warrior" series of training joint exercises between China and Pakistan on 13 occasions, and has been awarded the second class merit twice and the third class merit twice. However, in the eyes of this "Tianshan Eagle", many honors are only the starting point.

"The highest honor of special forces is only one, that is, to win on the battlefield." Ayeden said, "For this goal, I can only keep charging and charging again." ”

From pacesetter company commander to special combat elite

Compared with his comrades-in-arms, Ayi Deng's special combat career is not long. He only began to step into the field of special operations at the age of 30, and in the words of Wu Feng, "Ayi Deng is an older 'recruit' in this profession."

At the end of 2014, Ayi Deng, who had been a company commander in an infantry company for 3 years, received news that a special operations brigade had transferred backbone cadres within the Xinjiang Military Region to organize special warfare training. Since he was a child, he has longed for the battlefield and felt that his blood was "ignited" at once, and he immediately submitted his application for registration.

"This kind of training task is not simple, it is very bitter and tiring and may be dangerous, can you do it?" The superior leader asked him. Ayi Deng did not hesitate, patting his chest and assuring, "What's not to like, I like the challenge!" ”

As a result, the nearly 30-year-old "pacesetter company commander" became an ordinary special operator from this day on. Parachutes, climbing, light weapons shooting... The special operations course is learned from scratch, and everything starts all over again.

Wu Feng, who was 6 years younger than Ayi Deng, met him at that time. In Wu Feng's view, this "promising" company commander made a "fool's" decision. "It's really incredible that a good company commander doesn't do it, and at this age he will come to be a special combatant." He had sighed.

But soon, Ayi Deng's hard work made Wu Feng forget the age difference between them. Learning to shoot with small arms, where the action was not understood, Ayi Deng pestered the instructors over and over again to inquire, and sometimes came to consult Wu Feng. When others are free of equipment when they are resting, Ayi Deng will seize the "preemptive" and self-training.

The climbing lesson is the "hard bone" that Ayeden feels is the hardest to gnaw, and climbing the 10-meter-high rope with a rucksack of more than 15 kilograms is no small challenge for a "veteran". In order to keep up with the progress of his comrades-in-arms as soon as possible, Ayi Deng practiced every day during his lunch break. In the summer, the outdoor temperature in Xinjiang is as high as 40 degrees Celsius, and Ayedeng's training clothes are soaked with sweat in a short time, and his hands are grinding blood bubbles.

"There is no innate strong. Everyone is practicing, why can't I? Ayi Deng admitted that he also felt lost because of his backward results, but in his heart, he "just had the strength to not accept defeat and wanted to prove himself."

For half a year, Ayi Deng's hands were always wrapped in bandages, and the blood scab eventually turned into calluses. He insisted on practicing every day, and also formulated a set of "5+" training goals, that is, "one more climb, one more gun, one more battle example, one more kilometer, and one more hour."

Soon, Ayi Deng's grades improved from passing to excellent. Later, he became the "little instructor" of the training team, and if his teammates had any problems, he would take the initiative to help explain the demonstration.

"His hard work often makes people forget his age. Seeing him, you will understand what a special soldier who dares to fight and rush should look like. Wu Feng said.

Wu Feng couldn't forget that once the military region organized the seven-day hell devil week extreme training, many special combat veterans were discouraged, but Ayi Deng was the first to sign up. Late at night when the temperature dropped to freezing, Wu Feng, as a support officer, was wearing a thick military coat, but Ayi Deng was bare-chested, lying directly in the bone-chilling ice water, and his lips were frozen purple.

At that moment, Wu Feng felt a sour feeling in his eyes. "What you see is a real special operator, doing whatever it takes to get the job done." Wu Feng determined from the bottom of his heart, "He is my comrade-in-arms who deserves to be trusted in life and death." ”

From the training ground to the battlefield

After becoming a special combatant, Ayi Deng was known for being "able to toss" and "bold". Last year, Ayi Deng led the Red Fang Special Warfare Team to the snowy plateau to conduct a real-life confrontation exercise. During the exercise, Ayi Deng suddenly received a guide information, "The Blue Army sneaked in at night, and the commander of the Red Side was accidentally 'injured' and must be sent to the rescue immediately, otherwise his life will be in danger." ”

Ayi Deng immediately led the team to set off, the terrain in the unfamiliar area is complex, Ayi Deng walked in the front to explore the way. On the way to escort the transfer, they encountered a seasonal river nearly 20 meters wide, and the water depth was not known. Pressed for time, Ayi Deng was the first to jump into the water, and the cold and bone-chilling river water instantly passed over his waist.

After confirming the depth of the water, Ayi Deng led the team to quickly cross the river. That night, the commander was successfully evacuated and "rescued", but Ayi Deng himself accidentally slipped while exploring the way, resulting in an injury to his right arm.

"It's inevitable to get hurt in a war, that's fine. If you want to win on the battlefield in the future, you must be tough on yourself in training! Ayi Deng said that today, he has 23 large and small scars on his body, most of which are left after becoming a special combatant.

In Ayi Deng's view, "the battlefield is not far from the training ground." "Always have the awareness of combat, treat every training as a war, in order to practice real skills, to ensure that when needed, rush to the top, fight to win."

After becoming the captain of the special technical team of the special operations brigade, every time the team organized training, before leaving, Ayi Deng had to check the equipment one by one, including whether the water in the kettle was full and whether it could be drunk, he had to personally confirm.

The accompanying field tents are inspected for assembly parts. Whether the door of each tent can be opened, whether the support pole will be distorted by the wind, he must see one by one. "Located on the frontier, we may go to the desert and plateau at any time to carry out missions, whether the soldiers have water in their kettles or not, whether the tents they live in leak or not leak, these small things may determine the success or failure of the mission."

In order to make the players adapt to various harsh environments, Ayi Deng thought of many ways. He regularly organized plateau training in the team, and on the farthest one, they marched on foot for nearly 70 kilometers on the snowy plateau at an altitude of more than 4500 meters, interspersed with multiple subject assessments to simulate long-distance combat tasks in the plateau area.

It was the "hardest" training that Wu Feng had experienced. He remembered that Ayi Deng had each squad carry 5 kilograms of explosives in addition to their original equipment, so that "in case of individual combat, everyone can carry out the explosion alone."

The team members walked on the plateau for a day and a night. At night, the cold and lack of oxygen exhausted everyone, but Ayi Deng did not see fatigue. He has been walking in the front to open the way, loudly cheering for his comrades-in-arms. If anyone is tired and sleepy, Ayi Deng will take the initiative to help share the weight, he set up his comrades again and again, and finally led everyone to complete the challenge.

"On the way to the mission will complain about him, so fierce, 'inhuman'. But at the end of the mission, everyone thanked him from the bottom of their hearts. Wu Feng said, "I have experienced it in training, and I will have a bottom in my heart in the future." Sometimes I don't push myself and don't know where my limits are. ”

In order to adapt to various field conditions, Ayeden also took the lead in studying new methods of warfare. With the improvement of information technology, he began to "play" with the drone, creatively proposing to use the drone to hoist the explosives and remotely control the explosion. It can improve the efficiency of rapid preparation of explosions in unfamiliar areas and avoid injuries to personnel.

Ayi Deng found the remote control key of the motorcycle and taught it to modify it to connect with the drone control system. In addition, he also tried to make a simple blasting device from more than 30 kinds of daily necessities such as warm pots and telephones, and remotely controlled the explosion through mobile phones.

"In the wild, sometimes it's necessary to source local materials. A kettle and a detonator, as long as we master the method, can become a magic weapon for us to defeat the enemy. Ayi Deng said.

During a training camp this summer, Ayi Deng experimented with drone remote blasting for the first time. Through his own modified remote control, Ayi Deng manipulated the drone to land at a designated location and carry out a precise strike on the mission target, which was a success in one go. After the loud explosion, the intact drone took off again and turned back, and Ayi Deng embraced his comrades excitedly.

"Every improvement on the training ground has the potential to play an important role in actual combat." Ayi Deng said seriously, "Every step we take is for victory on the battlefield!" ”

From Commander to "Leader"

In Ai Deng's view, the progress of practical practice is inseparable from the accumulation of theory and the summary of experience, and behind the battlefield victory is the in-depth study of tactical tactics. To this end, Ayi Deng has developed a habit over the years: collecting examples of foreign armies and newly published textbooks on various tactics and tactics, sorting out and analyzing them in a timely manner, and summarizing them into his own training experience.

"Modern warfare requires not only technical proficiency, but also a mind to win. It is necessary to take the initiative to study war and adapt to the modern battlefield. Ayi Deng explained, "The progress in skills is inseparable from the transformation of thinking. Not only to be able to punch, but also to know how to punch. ”

Some foreign language books could not be bought, so Ayi Deng tried to contact the military academies to borrow them, "finding a lot of connections." In order to understand foreign language books, he used his free time to teach himself foreign languages, and now he is proficient in 5 languages.

Since 2015, Ayeden has participated in the China-Pakistan "Warrior" series of training joint exercises for four consecutive years, and the real combat examples seen and heard by the eyes and ears in Pakistan have also become Ayeden's "rich mine for learning from the experience".

Ayi Deng remembers hearing an example of a failed mission of a special operations squad during an exchange with foreign forces. On that mission, the foreign special operations team planned to burst into the house after the explosion, but the demolitionist ignored the prejudgment of the load on the wall, causing the entire house to collapse after the explosives exploded, and the foreign special operations team was all crushed under the rubble. After returning, Ayi Deng summed up the experience and proposed that the demolition man should not only learn to calculate the amount of explosives, but also study the characteristics of various walls and building materials when organizing training in the special technical team, so as to avoid risks.

In order to record the real war case more accurately, every time he went abroad, Ayi Deng had to carry a camera with him. Seeing the scene or video of the foreign army fighting, Ayi Deng recorded it at any time.

After returning to China, Ayi Deng will summarize the experience based on the experience of the joint exercise and joint training, form written materials, and share and discuss with the comrades-in-arms. In addition to analyzing the combat examples of foreign troops, he also found the backbone of various specialties in the team, combined with his own reality, and explored effective tactics suitable for domestic training. After 4 years, Ayi Deng's notebooks have saved more than a dozen copies.

This year, Ayedon's summary material came in "handy". In cooperation with experts from the Special Operations Academy, he jointly compiled a monograph entitled "Basic Skills of Joint Special Operations", which has been listed as a guidance textbook for the training outline of special forces in the whole army. Combined with the difficulty of organizing a field survival organization under the conditions of desert terrain, Ayi Deng has also studied the field survival training skills of the troops on the basis of his experience in participating in competitions at all levels and his daily training experience, and sorted out and summed up a set of realistic and feasible training methods, which have now been promoted throughout the brigade.

In Ayi Deng's mind, a qualified commander cannot be satisfied with the improvement of personal skills, "If you want to lead a team to improve together, you must convey good experience and practices to everyone and lead everyone to win together." ”

As the "vanguard unit" of the brigade, Ayi Deng's special technical team often undertakes the teaching task and organization of the whole brigade. To this end, Ayi Deng asked each major in the team to produce a set of high-quality teaching plans, slides, photos, small videos and other teaching methods should be used.

Li Dingbo, the third-level sergeant major, was a reconnaissance major, and in the past he only used computers to perform professional operations, and he knew nothing about making slides and retouching pictures. After Ayi Deng knew, he took the initiative to go to the door to help with the teaching. After the lesson plan was made, Ayi Deng was the first to watch it, and then put forward opinions based on his own learning experience, and revised it together with Li Dingbo.

Li Dingbo saw that his lesson plan was densely annotated by Ayi Deng, "At that moment, I was deeply touched, and you can deeply feel that he not only wants others to learn, but also really wants to teach others well and pass on good experience methods to more people." ”

Ayi Deng also encouraged Li Dingbo to innovate in the reconnaissance profession. As a veteran of this profession for more than 10 years, at first Li Dingbo felt that "the technology is very mature and there is no room for play", but Ayi Deng disagreed.

"Behind every mission, there should be a summary of empirical methods. A little progress from you may help others take a big step forward in this profession in the future. Ayidon said to him.

With the encouragement and help of Ayeden, Li Dingbo combined his years of training mission experience and began to study the information dissemination of border reconnaissance in 2018. He found that in border areas, signals cannot be transmitted due to the complexity of the terrain, and there is a problem that "the situation is detected, but the information cannot be sent". To this end, he studied several methods of antenna erection and proposed production opinions to manufacturers. Now, after consulting with Ayi Deng, he also intends to "enter" the field of unmanned aerial vehicles and try to manipulate drones to set up antennas.

"He was like a leader, not only leading us to fight, but also telling us how to fight." Li Dingbo said that as soon as he saw Ayi Deng, he had confidence in carrying out his mission.

But Ayi deng wasn't satisfied with that, and to this day, he still feels he hasn't done enough. "The skills in training can be upgraded again, and the tactical tactics can be innovated again." You must never be satisfied, in order to keep fighting hard. ”

The Kazakhs revere the eagle, and in Ayi Deng's heart, he hopes that he can be like the eagle on the Heavenly Mountain, "always aiming at the sky higher and farther, always flapping his wings and flying high." ”
