Recently, Zunyi, Guizhou, suffered a new round of new crown pneumonia epidemic. In accordance with the requirements of epidemic prevention and control, Zunyi Medical University implements the management of school closure, and Du Haiying, a freshman at the school, often advises "aunt" Dong Jun and four "fathers" to pay attention to protection and be careful of colds when going out on duty. She also told Dong Jun that the school organized senior students to support the frontline of the fight against the epidemic, and she felt some regret that she had not been able to become an anti-epidemic volunteer as she wished.

Du Haiying's family lives in Leiba Village, Bantang Township, Changshun County, Qiannan Buyi and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, Guizhou Province, where she lost her parents and lived with her grandfather and brother. But fortunately, at the age of 6, she had the love of four "fathers" and one "aunt" of the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau.
Du Haiying's four "fathers" are Tian Weichun, captain of the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau, Cui Jianyong, former captain of the brigade, Jian Xing, director of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau Changzhai Police Station, and Chen Xun, captain of the traffic police brigade of Huishui County, Qiannan Prefecture. Chen Xun worked in the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau for many years, and after being transferred to Huishui County, he still cared for his "daughter" Du Haiying through various means.

In the spring of 2009, the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau launched the "Baby Plan" to help left-behind children, orphans and children from poor families caused by accidents. In the past 12 years, the program, including Du Haiying, has helped 35 children.
"Whose child isn't a baby?"
In the spring of 2009, Changshun County, located in the hinterland of Mashan Mountain, was in drought for a long time. In March of that year, the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau went to Leiba Village to deliver domestic water to the school and villagers. At Leiba Elementary School, a teacher told Tian Weichun and Dong Jun that there was a little girl in the first grade of the school who was particularly pitiful and hoped that they could provide some help.

This little girl is Du Haiying. Subsequently, Tian Weichun and Dong Jun came to Du Haiying's house. "As soon as I walked in the door, tears came out." Dong Jun recalled that Du Haiying lived in a hut with his grandfather and brother at that time, and the cow pen next door was a cow pen, with a foul smell and flying flies.
Sluggish eyes and dirty clothes that did not fit, du Haiying's first impression of Tian Weichun.
In Tian Weichun's memory, Du Haiying's grandfather did not say much. After talking intermittently for more than an hour, he and Dong Jun learned that when Du Haiying was 4 months old, his mother unfortunately died. At the age of 4, my father also died.
Since then, Du Haiying has lived with his grandfather, who was more than 70 years old at the time, and his brother, who is also young, while his sister lives with his uncle's family.

The main source of income for Du Haiying's family is to plant some melons, fruits and vegetables in a few acres of land to sell. In addition, the young Du Haiying would also go up the mountain with other villagers to collect medicine and sell it for money, "when you have time, go with them, just after dawn, I have been to the mountains around the village." Du Haiying recalled.
After returning to the unit, Tian Weichun, then deputy commander of the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau, could not calm down for a long time, and after consulting with the brigade leader Chen Xun, instructor Cui Jianyong, deputy brigade leader Jian Xing, and others, he decided to help Du Haiying. The four "fathers" paid more than 10,000 yuan out of their own pockets, purchased steel, cement and bricks, repaired the du family's old house, and asked a local township cadre to help keep an eye on it and control the quality.
On March 13, 2012, four of Du Haiying's "fathers" moved her to a new home, from left: Jian Xing, Tian Weichun, Cui Jianyong and Chen Xun. (Photo courtesy of the traffic police brigade of Changshun County Public Security Bureau)
Many of the police officers involved in the help said that they initially just wanted to care about Du Haiying, send some food, and give some money. But slowly, they became less and less able to let go of Du Haiying and children in a similar situation to her.
"How to describe it? There is a barrier in the heart that cannot be passed. Liu Quan, instructor of the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau, said, "We always feel that we still have something to do, rather than expressing love and finishing, so that they can one day walk out of the mountains and change their destiny." To this end, the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau asked Leiba Primary School to help and identified 13 children who were paired to help.
"Xiao Haiying was our first helper, and this plan can also be said to have started because of her." Dong Jun told reporters that the plan was named "Baby Plan", inspired by a sentence that Cui Jianyong said: "Whose child is not a baby?" ”

"Your Forever Family"
There is a plan, but how can it be helped? Cui Jianyong, who has a delicate mind, said that the main purpose of the "Baby Plan" is to make the helpers feel warm and guide them to grow up healthily.
To this end, after work, the police will take the children to the traffic police brigade and accompany them to eat in the canteen. In addition, exchange meetings will be held from time to time for them to play with the children of the police. Some police officers will also bring the help objects to their homes.

"Xiao Haiying didn't talk much before, and she cried as soon as she spoke, and we were very worried about her." Tian Weichun recalled that when the traffic police brigade carried out activities, Du Haiying hid alone in the corner, playing with plastic beads on jeans. It was not until the third grade that Du Haiying gradually became cheerful.
After graduating from primary school, Du Haiying went to Changshun County to attend junior high school, closer to the "fathers". Every weekend or holiday, Dong Jun and the four "fathers" would pick her up from school from time to time, take her shopping, eat some good food, and talk about life and study at school.
On June 8 this year, Du Haiying successfully concluded the college entrance examination. Dong Jun, Tian Weichun, Cui Jianyong and Jian Xing waited early at the entrance of Changshun County Nationalities Middle School, and Dong Jun also specially bought a bouquet of flowers.

The reporter saw in the photos provided by Dong Jun that there was also a greeting card in this bouquet of flowers, which read: "Haiying baby, I wish the college entrance examination to come true, from then on, you will always be the best child in our hearts!" The greeting card was paid: "Your forever family." ”
June 24 is the day the results of the Guizhou Provincial College Entrance Examination were announced, and in the early morning of the same day, Tian Weichun could not sleep, anxiously waiting for Du Haiying's news, "the heart beat suddenly." At about 1:40 a.m., he received a text message from Du Haiying: 502 minutes!
Du Haiying's score was 46 points higher than that of Guizhou Science, which made Tian Weichun overjoyed. In the days that followed, he "showed off" everyone: "My little Haiying scored 502 points!" ”

When filling in the volunteer, Du Haiying decided to study medicine, and Tian Weichun, Jian Xing, Cui Jianyong and Dong Jun gathered together to help her choose which college to fill out specifically, and also called Du Haiying's high school class teacher. In the end, Du Haiying filled in zunyi medical university and was successfully admitted.
In September, 18-year-old Du Haiying, accompanied by Tian Weichun, Jian Xing and Dong Jun, drove to the school. In order to celebrate Du Haiying's admission to Zunyi Medical University as she wished, the four "fathers" secretly scraped together more than 5,000 yuan and bought a laptop computer to give her as a "surprise". The "aunt" bought her new clothes, blankets and toiletries early.
Du Haiying said she was lucky to meet "aunts" and four "fathers", "I have regarded them as family." ”

"I'm her 'daddy'"
There are many touching stories between traffic police "dads" and their "babies".
A traffic accident made Liang Xiaoli walk into the sight of the Changshun traffic police. In July 2013, while waiting for her to return home on the side of the road, Grandma Xiaoli was hit by an unlicensed tricycle that collected waste, resulting in multiple fractures of the skull and sternum, and serious intracranial hemorrhage. Because the perpetrator's family was poor and unable to pay huge medical expenses, the relatives of the elderly decided to abandon treatment.
Liu Quan was the police traffic police officer of the accident, and when he rushed to the hospital after handling the scene, Xiao Li's grandmother had been taken home by relatives. They then went to Xiaoli's house and found Xiaoli crying in a corner. Liu Quan clearly remembered that Xiao Li's eyes were full of panic and helplessness at that time.
This is a poor child: in February 2003, the infant Xiaoli was abandoned in the wilderness. Fortunately, the couple surnamed Liang in Wuxing Village, Changshun County, found Xiaoli, who had been frozen blue, and took her home.
The couple surnamed Liang already had a pair of children at that time, but still decided to adopt the abandoned baby and named her Xiaoli. Under the care of the family, Xiaoli gradually grew up.

However, since 2009, bad luck has descended on this ordinary family one after another: that Spring Festival, Xiaoli's adoptive father died of a sudden illness. Not long after, the adoptive mother also died of illness. The tragic experience of the white-haired man sending the black-haired man crushed Xiaoli's grandfather, and soon after, he also died quietly in his sleep.
Within two years, Xiaoli lost three close relatives. In order to support her family, her brother and sister left the campus early and went out to work, leaving Xiaoli and her grandmother to rely on each other in their hometown.
After learning of Xiaoli's tragic life, after liu quan and colleagues made many efforts, Xiaoli's grandmother was sent back to the hospital and received effective treatment, and her injuries gradually improved.
Since then, Xiaoli has become the object of help for the "Baby Plan", and the grandchildren have since added a group of "relatives wearing police uniforms". Passing by on the way out of the police or on duty, sitting at Xiaoli's house and sending various living and study materials has become the practice of the police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau.
At that time, the wooden house where Xiaoli and her grandmother lived was crumbling and in danger. Together with his colleagues, Liu Quan gathered more than 20,000 yuan and built a bungalow with 5 rooms for them. Liu Quan also found a job for Xiaoli's brother in a factory.
After going to junior high school, Xiaoli was living in school when she was studying, and Liu Quan still remembers it vividly.
One day, Xiaoli cried on the phone and told Liu Quan that she had been beaten by a classmate. Hanging up the phone, Liu Quan hurried to the school.
"After understanding the situation, the school called a meeting of the teacher, the director of instruction and the parents of the relevant students. When I introduced myself, I said that I was Xiaoli's 'father'. Liu Quan said: "I want teachers and other students to know that Xiaoli has relatives." ”
Since then, Xiaoli has never been bullied again.
After graduating from high school, Xiaoli went to work in other cities. Every New Year's Festival, she will take the initiative to send liu Quan a text message to send blessings.
"The kids gave us a lot too"
The cowshed when I first met Haiying, the dirty little face of the child, the happy smiles of the four traffic policemen "daddies" and Haiying in the new residence, the smiling faces of the babies when they put on new clothes for the first time, the shy look when they tied red scarves for the first time, the laughter when they first entered the city and the uncles celebrated the festival... In the bright classroom, the projections on the white walls keep the children's eyes peeling.
In 2014, on the 5th anniversary of the "Baby Project", the police officers of the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau came to Leiba Primary School in Pengtang Township with newly purchased clothes and school bags to visit the children who were paired and helped, and prepared a special gift for them - the electronic photo album of the fifth anniversary of the "Baby Project".

Many children cried, and the traffic police and teachers present could not help but shed tears.
With the increasing popularity of the "Baby Plan", many social caring people contacted the traffic police brigade of the Changshun County Public Security Bureau in the hope of helping these children. At Leiba Primary School, caring people helped build a multimedia video classroom "Rainbow Classroom" to facilitate left-behind children to contact their parents who are migrant workers.
Tian Weichun said that in recent years, poor children in rural areas have received great attention, their living conditions have been greatly improved, and the "Baby Plan" has not included new members. But the children who have been paired, he and his colleagues will continue to help until they enter the society.
"In the eyes of others, we give a lot to the children. But in fact, over the years, the children have also given us a lot. Dong Jun said.
Tian Weichun said that in the future, if students and vulnerable groups in need of help are found, they will continue the "baby plan" because "this is what the people's police should do." (Some of the names in the text are pseudonyms)
