Neymar da Silva Santos Júnior (Neymar) (born 5 February 1992 in the brazilian state of São Paulo) is a Brazilian footballer who plays as a striker for Paris Saint-Germain F.C. in France and captains the Brazilian men's national football team.

Neymar was born in the Academy of Santos F.C. In 2009, Neymar was promoted to santos first team. After twice being named South American Footballer of the Year, Neymar moved to Barcelona in the summer of 2013. In the 2014-15 season, Neymar helped Barca to be crowned the "Treble" and was personally awarded the Champions League Golden Boot and the Copa del Rey Golden Boot. In August 2017, Neymar joined Paris Saint-Germain for a record-breaking transfer fee of €222 million and was named Ligue 1 Player of the Year in his first season. In the 2019-20 season, Neymar helped Paris Saint-Germain reach the Champions League final for the first time.

In 2010, Neymar was selected for the Brazilian national team for the first time. In the summer of 2013, Neymar won the Confederations Cup with the national team. In 2014, Neymar competed with the national team at the World Cup in Brazil and won the Bronze Boot. In 2016, Neymar helped Brazil win the first Olympic men's gold medal.

Neymar was born in Moquidas Cruz, São Paulo, Brazil. His father, a former professional footballer, was Neymar's enlightenment coach, which allowed his football talents to flourish quickly. Like many Brazilian players, Neymar has followed a path from street soccer to indoor football to professional football. At the age of 6, he was discovered by coach Bertinho, became a mentor and began practicing futsal.

In 2003, Neymar's family moved to Santos, and Neymar joined the Santos Junior Team to start his youth training career. In January 2005, Neymar passed the real madrid trial but eventually stayed with Santos. In an interview at the age of 16, Neymar said his dream team is Real Madrid and his idol is Zidane.
