Vocational education can still cultivate undergraduate, master's and doctoral engineering talents

author:Beijing News

For the students of Beijing Changping Vocational School (hereinafter referred to as "Chang vocational"), secondary vocational education is not the end point of vocational education, but the starting point. In the study of combining theory with practice, vocational education has illuminated their career path in advance.

"My classmates may not have figured out what to do right now, but I already had a clear career direction at the age of 18." Liu Yan, a 2021 college student majoring in preschool education, has a firm tone. After graduating from junior high school, she chose to study at the school, and the mode of higher vocational advancement now allows her to successfully enter the junior college, and in the future she decided to continue her studies and obtain a bachelor's degree.

"Vocational education can still cultivate engineering talents such as undergraduates and even masters and doctors, and as the country pays more and more attention to vocational education, the entire education system is changing." Zheng Yanqiu, vice president of Changzhi, said that the school is based on the industrial structure of Beijing and Changping District, and is deeply integrated with enterprises, providing a practice platform, so that students have more possibilities for the future.

Theory combines practice, and students learn by doing

On October 29, when the large digital screen the size of a movie screen was placed in the center of the hall of the teaching building, looking at the colorful school epidemic prevention and control chart above, Han Ziyang's face flashed a confident smile, "I made this thing." ”

Han Ziyang is a 2019 student of the Department of Information Technology of Changzhi, and chose to accept vocational education after graduating from junior high school.

In the first year of high school, Han Ziyang had a profound experience: follow the teacher to Lenovo and Tencent to visit, contact and understand the corporate culture; go to the town government to participate in the internship of digital information projects; and participate in four vocational skills competitions in the past three years, Han Ziyang completely learned in practice.

Last year, his internship experience in the construction project of the shahe town government convenience service hotline platform allowed him to identify his career direction - to be a big data operation and maintenance engineer. During the two-month internship, he was responsible for the operation and maintenance of the platform, such as classifying and entering the citizens' hotlines related to heating and the epidemic using big data, and then handing them over to the corresponding staff, sending them to various functional departments of the government, and solving the problem in the first time.

"This gave me a detailed understanding of the workflow of the convenience service hotline and the clear division of labor of the team to smoothly make the project go ahead." Han Ziyang said that these experiences can make him better apply theoretical knowledge to practice. For example, this time, he and his classmates developed the school's epidemic prevention and control database, which used the ability of data analysis and data visualization.

The database includes data such as the number of students learning online and offline, the teaching progress of teachers, the number of people in medium- and high-risk areas and the number of people vaccinated, and is displayed in real time on the school's big screen with charts such as ring charts, pie charts and bar statistics. The dynamic data updated every day allows teachers and students to see at a glance the epidemic prevention and control situation of the school.

The integration of industry and education must rely on enterprises to run a profession

Han Ziyang's practical experience is just a microcosm of the school's many students. The integration of industry and education has always been the key to the school's vocational education, over the years, Changzhi insisted on docking the industrial structure of Beijing and Changping District to build majors, the existing 7 categories of professional groups, the opening of aviation services, automobile application and maintenance, big data technology application, preschool education, film and television post-production, e-commerce, ice and snow sports and other 41 majors, professional and industrial fit 100%.

"To run any major, there must be cooperative enterprises, from curriculum setting to base co-construction, especially the training of teachers, vocational education must be in-depth cooperation between schools and enterprises." Zheng Yanqiu, vice president of Changzhi, introduced that the professional settings of the school are from the market, and the majors are set according to the regional industrial structure and economic situation and market demand. "Every time we open a new major, we have to go through half a year to a year, and we will find the head enterprises in Beijing to carry out in-depth cooperation and research to achieve a very integrated development state."

For example, Zheng Yanqiu said that the school began to jointly run schools with enterprises in the mode of an engineer college in 2015, and has built 15 engineer colleges, such as Lenovo Engineer College, Jingdong Industry-Education Integration College, Volkswagen, BMW training bases... Not only will corporate "order classes" be developed, but courses will be updated at any time according to the professional settings.

Zheng Yanqiu introduced that the in-depth cooperation with enterprises is also conducive to the rapid update and iteration of the profession, and the school's current majors have carried out a "blood change" in recent years. In the past five years, the emergence of new technologies, new industries, new formats, the emergence of artificial intelligence, big data technologies, such as smart agriculture, intelligent cars, etc., the new majors added by the school are also closely related to the digital economy.

Enterprises encourage teachers to enter the enterprise for training and exchange

On the afternoon of November 11, Zheng Yanqiu led the team to just finish demonstrating the opening of a new major, planning to launch the "Childcare for Zero to Three-year-old Children" major. It said that with the liberalization of the country's second and third children, there is a manpower burden for raising children in the family, and vocational education should assume this social responsibility, cultivate young childcare talents, and send them to the society.

In the context of the continuous updating and iteration of the profession, there must be a test of the strength of the teachers. Zheng Yanqiu introduced that every time a major is run, it is necessary to prepare the source of teachers in advance. The first is the introduction of talents, the school will set standards, relying on social recruitment and school recruitment. Secondly, we will cooperate with enterprises in depth, let people from enterprises give lectures, and promote "apprenticeship" and "order-based" training.

Third, promote the transformation of school teachers, and send their own teachers to relevant institutions and enterprises for systematic learning. "For example, when the general aircraft maintenance major was opened in 2018, three teachers of NUMERICAL control technology were sent to Tianjin Civil Aviation University to study for half a year, and interned at the general aviation airport for half a year to do systematic transformation and upgrading." Zheng Yanqiu said. The school requires teachers to have the "four abilities", that is, to stand on the platform, drive a lathe, find the right market, and do the project. Not only to train students, but also to receive training and promotion at any time, constantly participate in corporate and market research, and master the latest industry data.

"Every year, we must adjust the talent training program and curriculum according to the actual situation of the enterprise, so as to bring the newly developed format to the teaching." Guo Tingting, a teacher at changzhi aviation service department, introduced.

Teachers are also encouraged to do projects and teaching and research. Under a series of efforts, it is very obvious to the teachers that in the past two years, many very good children have entered the vocational school, "especially feeling that this year's student source is improving, many majors are full, and there are constantly people to consult whether they can study here." What used to be a passive wait for students to choose can now be actively selected. Zheng Yanqiu sighed.

In the future, the school plans to cultivate a multi-functional compound talent. "Secondary vocational should not be a student passively choosing to take the road of vocational education, we want students to see that he will have more opportunities to choose after he comes, he can choose a major, he can choose a degree promotion, he can take interprofessional elective courses, we let students really interest in the fields he may be engaged in in his life." Zheng Yanqiu said.
