At that time, there were only 8 provinces in Jiangsu, Xuzhou was a state at that time, and then all 8 provinces in Jiangsu were all, just as the 13 cities are now among the top 100 cities in the country's GDP, which is the case in history. Therefore, Nanjing's economic proportion in Jiangsu is not high, not in recent decades, and it has not been high since ancient times.
Looking at the whole country, Nanjing's location conditions are at the junction of the largest plain and the large mountainous area, and another such city is Beijing. However, if you look at the Yangtze River Delta region, the economic location is not good, so it needs to be supported. In the author's opinion, the city that supports Nanjing the most in the whole country is Suzhou.

Understandable. If Jiangning Province goes to Anhui, the first degree is naturally very high and says one or the other, but the burden will be very heavy. The Jiangsu side persevered and told the emperor about this matter, so as to leave Nanjing here, paving a very good road for Nanjing's future future.
In terms of comprehensive strength at the end of the Qing Dynasty, Jiangsu, Guangdong, Zhili, Shandong, Zhejiang, and Hubei were all well-known strong provinces, and the capital of the Republic of China would only be selected among the strong provinces.

In the early years of the Republic of China, several governments claiming to represent Jiangsu sprang up and fiercely packed themselves. There is Chen Qimei in Shanghai, there is a military government with the background of the Zhenjiangnanyang Army (the army controlled by the Governor of Liangjiang is called the Nanyang Army, and the governor directly subordinate to the Governor is called the Beiyang Army), the background of retired officers in Huai'an Beiyang, and the government of Xu Baoshan in Yangzhou that everyone is familiar with, and the most authentic is Cheng Dequan, the former Inspector of Jiangsu in Suzhou.
After all kinds of efforts, Cheng Dequan's Governor's Office of Jiangsu province is the highest administrative organ in Jiangsu Province. Later, after considering the Governor's Office of Jiangsu, he went to Nanjing ZhanYuan, and the Qing Dynasty Jiangning Bu envoy Si Yamen office. Due to the war, Nanjing, Suzhou, and Hangzhou in the early years of the Republic of China had only a population of more than 200,000 people, social unrest, and Jiang Weiguo was slapped by a soldier for no reason during his studies at Soochow University in Suzhou. The role of being the provincial capital was very large at that time, at least the social security would be much better, but Suzhou never competed. Later, in 1927, the National Government of Nanjing was established, and the new provincial capital went to Zhenjiang by vote 6/9, Suzhou did not matter at all, and in 1930, Suzhou City was abolished and changed to Wu County (this is still the demand of Suzhou people themselves, Ye Chuling made great efforts).

Some people have said that Jiangsu's state-level development zone Suzhou is several times more than Nanjing, is it a special policy? The national economic and technological development zone is scored by the state according to the indicators of the provincial development zone, and it is up to the top and withdraw if it is not reached, which has been the case for many years. Suzhou does not want any special policies, but has made great contributions to the whole country and the whole province, and is one of the mainstays of Jiangsu.
As the capital of the province, Nanjing, and the second largest city of economic scale, together with Suzhou, led the province forward. Shanghai rose quickly, and it also separated from Jiangsu very quickly, but Shanghai's predecessor Songjiang Province was a very strong place during the Jiangsu period, at least close to Changzhou Capital, and the contribution was not small, and the contribution to Jiangsu after the direct administration could be great.
Today, Jiangsu is supported by every city. Although some people say that it looks like bulk, it is not ambiguous at the critical moment. Very clear, very powerful, and do not say anything, perhaps this is a long-term historical tacit understanding.
