The Speed Skating World Cup is the qualification tournament for the Beijing Winter Olympics, and for the first time since the outbreak of the new crown epidemic, the world's speed skating masters have gathered in Poland to compete fiercely for the ticket to the Beijing Winter Olympics. After two years of silence, the Chinese speed skating national training team once again embarked on the international arena and went all out to compete for the winter Olympic qualification.
On the first day of the competition, there were 10 groups of runners in the men's 500m A group, and Gao Tingyu, who started from the 8th group, showed excellent form, and finally broke the track record and won the championship with a time of 34.265 seconds, making the season a good start. Japan's ShinhamaRitsu also won a silver medal, and Canada's Dubril won a bronze medal.
In the women's 500m Group A final, Jackson of the United States won the championship in 37.613 seconds, while Japan's Nao Kodaira and Russia's Fatkurina won silver and bronze medals. China's Jin Jingzhu and Tian Ruining ranked 6th and 7th.
This competition is the first international competition after Li Yan, chairman of the Chinese Skating Association, became the head coach and leader of the national speed skating training team. Except for the Polish race
The Chinese team will also compete in Stavanger in Norway, Salt Lake City in the United States and Calgary in Canada. Seats in the speed skating event at the Beijing Winter Olympics are determined by the points ranking of the four World Cups this season and the best results of the athletes.
According to the schedule, on the evening of the 13th Beijing time, the women's 500 meters second, men's 1500 meters, women's 1000 meters, men's group departure and women's team pursuit finals will be held.
