One day in September 1972, Treasure Island Taiwan was shrouded in an irritating heat. In the police station in Nantou County, big guys are eating watermelons and fans. It seems that there have been no major cases in this area for a long time. Suddenly a sharp electric bell broke all this. A small policeman picked up the phone, and his face gradually became solemn. Then, I saw him put down the telephone handset and immediately walked over to the director and whispered a few words in the director's ear. The Administrator immediately realized that something really big had happened this time. "Just received a report that three young people are missing nearby, and the family is very anxious. Now everyone is ready to assemble outside and prepare to go to the nearby mountains to start a search! The director ordered everyone with a somber face, and then he turned around again, looked at the map on the wall and fell into thought: "It is difficult to find three students in Qilai Mountain!" It's too hard! ” So, what kind of mountain is this Chi lai mountain mentioned by the police commissioner? Where did these missing young people disappear again?
The police rushed to the mountain to see that it was too big. Because most of the island is tropical, the vegetation here is very dense and varied, and it is not easy to find three people.
Suddenly, a young police officer found six chopsticks on the ground. The chopsticks were inserted on the ground and pointed to the sky. It was as if it was indicating something. Next to the chopsticks is a series of footprints. There are also some student items. Judging from the degree of newness and oldness of the items, it is almost certain that the owners of these items are the three young people.

"Look! Here's a notebook! On the other side, a police officer also found a clue. Although the notebook was discovered, the words on it were all blurred. It is undoubtedly impossible to find someone with these things. The on-site search here was at an impasse. The police decided to return to the police station to investigate the specific identities of the three young people and see if they could make some inferences based on this information.
Because the Chi lai mountain where the three people are missing this time is a steep mountain. There are many wild beasts in the mountains, and the climate is also very varied throughout the mountains. Therefore, if you want to climb a mountain, you usually need to register at the local police station. Sure enough, after checking the registration, I still found some information. According to the registered information:
All three young men were college students. They are Qiu Gao from Tunghai University and Hu Dening and Li Fuming from Fu Jen University. They are densely written on the column of climbing items, and they are prepared at a glance. The climbing time is written on the morning of August 24.
Because the police department is only responsible for registering the climbing situation. Climbers do not need to come back to the police station to report after they come down. So, a few days passed. The police thought the three young men should have gone down the hill long ago and gone back to their respective homes. Until the police station received the call from the family.
Since the on-site search did not find any valuable clues, there was no anomaly in the register. At this time, everyone can only pin their hopes on other aspects. The police station sent people to continue the search in the Chi lai mountains, while sending people to look for witnesses. After all, with the register in hand, it's easier to ask the people who climb the mountain behind you.
After some questioning, everyone learned that on August 38, the fourth day after the three people went up the mountain, there was a professional mountaineering team that went to Qilai Mountain. So the police station immediately found several people from the climbing team.
The captain of the mountain was thrilled to see the police. He said he had spotted something scattered on the mountain road the other day. There are trekking poles, plastic tents and some food. With that, he handed everything over to the police.
Just at this moment, the Hualien County police on the other side sent news that Qiu Gao's three people had arrived home safely. However, Nantou is obviously still looking for someone, so why did those students go home confused? Therefore, the Nantou police gave up the search and hurried to find qiu Gao's parents. However, after seeking verification, the Nantou police were angry, and it turned out that the notebook sent by the police had reached the hands of the Qiu family's parents, and they deliberately rushed to Nantou from their home in Taipei. As for the three young people going home, it is completely the "oolong incident" brought about by the understanding deviation. That being the case, keep looking.
The police investigated the high incidence of accidents. They found that a year before The Chi lai Mountains had been killed by a college student climbing. The location of the accident is also very close to the location where the item was found, between the main peak of Chilay Mountain and the adjacent Karolou Mountain. Upon hearing this result, Qiu Gao's parents became even more nervous. He said he was unwilling to leave the police station. In a word: These three children live to see people, and die to see corpses.
Soon, it was September 13th. At this time, police officers reported that some strange stone carvings and footprints had been found near the main peak of Mount Chilai. Everyone rushed to the scene to identify it, and found that one of the words looked like a "south" word. And people continue to track the whereabouts of the footprints. By the 19th, people finally found some footprints. These footprints are deep in the forefoot and shallow in the back, and are far, far apart from each other. It seems that the footprints come from the same place. Why is it that there were three people at the time of departure, and there was only one person left here? Moreover, judging from the footprints, this person also ran a not short distance.
Could it be that these three young men had met a beast? However, if it was attacked by wild beasts, then why were no remains found in the vicinity? Following this line of thought, the police continued to expand the scope of the search. In any case, even if one of the three young people is found now, there is hope that the truth will be revealed.
As they walked, people smelled a foul smell coming from a mountain stream not far away, but when the people looked for it, they were disappointed, and it turned out that all this smell came from a dead wild goat. Clues found here were once again interrupted. Everyone also went around the mountain for several days, leaving only some people behind, and the others returned to the police station to continue to analyze the case.
On September 27, another police officer found Qiu Gao and his three "mountaineering passes" on the mountain. And the place where the mountaineering permit was found is not far from the place where the chopsticks were first discovered. At this time, the police found a local aboriginal. He explained that among the indigenous people, there was a way to ask for help by inserting chopsticks.
However, this argument is obviously untenable here. First, the police had never heard of this kind of rescue method before. Second, Qiu Gao and the three of them live in Taipei, even if they have prepared a travel strategy in advance, they will most likely not be detailed enough to understand the distress signal of the indigenous people.
After these clues appeared, there was a rumor that the local aborigines killed three young people for food and belongings, and then secretly buried the bodies. The police vigorously defied the public opinion and announced that this was just nonsense, so that everyone did not have to care. However, at this time, the two indigenous people who had previously joined the search team withdrew from the search team due to physical discomfort. The police had to undertake the investigation task alone, constantly searching deep into the mountains.
Later, on October 1st, two more footprints were found. On the side there is also a small pile of stones that has been abandoned. It seems that this place must have been patronized. However, the police did not find anything wrong with it.
On November 19, the last dance police search team returned helplessly from the mountain. Apart from finding some strange footprints, they found no more substantial evidence or useful clues. The rescue of Qiu Gao's three people also came to an end. The police eventually announced to the outside world that the three of them had "disappeared".
Qiu Gao's parents apparently did not accept such a statement. They believe that the incompetence of the Taiwanese police has buried their children's lives. Therefore, they paid for the search and rescue teams of the people to try to find them in the mountains again. However, the final result is still the same. The rumors about Qiu Gao's whereabouts in Taiwanese society have become more and more bizarre and outrageous. Even later novels based on this model appeared. At the same time, people were constantly talking about where Qiu Gao had gone. After all, three good big living people will not evaporate in the world, right?
In fact, people's speculation about Qiu Gao's descendants has mainly formed three views, the first of which is that they have been attacked by wild beasts. Moreover, they scattered again on the way to being chased by wild beasts, so that someone fell off a cliff. This is also similar to the original police inference.
The second view is that they got lost on the way up the mountain. In the end, he scattered on the way to find his way, and eventually fell off a cliff. The third view is that they were killed artificially. As for their killers, it may be the local indigenous people, or it may be that after the three people had a dispute, there was a physical conflict, which finally caused all three people to die tragically in the mountains.
It has to be said that these three views and their analysis have some truth to some extent. In the end, however, no one was able to come up with crucial evidence to convince everyone. After all, inference without any evidence can only be said to be "making up stories" by oneself. Inferences without any evidence base are also meaningless.
In the blink of an eye, more than 40 years have passed since Qiu Gao's disappearance. The truth of the incident has become more and more difficult to figure out. Perhaps, at some point in the future, people will find the truth. However, it is also possible that this truth will not be answered for a long time. In any case, when you go out, you must improve your safety awareness, and do not go to dangerous places to play and explore. Adventure is fun and life is more expensive. Without life, everything becomes meaningless.
