Both players involved in the altercation were fined $35,000 for provoking the incident and Turner $25,000. Donovan Mitchell, who was also deported, was fined $20,000 for saying trash on the Pacers' bench to escalate the situation. Joe Ingles was fined $30,000 for pushing the referee in a clash and was expelled for it.

The clash between Gobert and Turner came in the fourth quarter of the game, with the Pacers winning 111-100.

After the game, Mitchell said it was wrong for the referee to allow the game to proceed. Utah's star shooting guard said letting too much contact lead to an increase in intensity. Gobert told reporters that some players should stop showing that they were going to fight. Turner said Gobert grabbing his shorts was a despicable move.

The Pacers and Jazz will face off again this season in Indiana on Jan. 8. While the anger of the bickering may be exhausted by then, the tension between Gobert, Turner and the two teams will be worth watching.
