In 1899, an ordinary couple in Chao County, Anhui Province, welcomed their first child, Li Kenong. From an early age, he showed a high degree of attainment and interest in literature, and had a strong sense of social responsibility and coordinated leadership ability, and actively participated in various student movements.
In September 1918, Li Kenong joined the Anshe. This was a group spontaneously created by the students of the Fifth Middle School of Wuhu Province, using "Flower of Freedom" as a propaganda publication to encourage people to bravely break through the shackles of feudal etiquette and pursue freedom, which was a clear stream in the progressive trend of thought at that time.
In June 1919, li Kenong, on the recommendation of his school teacher, ushered in the first opportunity of his life - to serve as the deputy editor of the "National Daily". But the good times did not last long, and Li Kenong was accused of writing against the new tax law against the price increase of Huai salt.
Students and teachers at Wuhu Provincial No. 5 Middle School staged a massive protest demanding Li Kenong's release. After the authorities agreed to release Li Kenong, he returned to Wuhu and became the second section chief of the Lu'an County Government at the recommendation of others.
In 1926, Li Kenong gloriously became an underground communist party member, and his "underground intelligence" work also began, which played an indispensable role in paving the way for his future career as a secret agent.
He infiltrated the Wuhu Youth Gang to inquire into intelligence, took the lead in understanding and immediately informed the Party Central Committee about the Intentions and Specific Actions of the Kuomintang's rebellion against the revolution. Our party immediately made a decision, and immediately transferred some office locations in Wuhu and destroyed confidential documents, so that a large number of backbone members escaped the clutches of the Kuomintang.
Afterwards, Li Kenong fled to Chao County, and did not return to Wuhu until November 27 to preside over the school affairs at Minsheng Middle School. In order to cooperate with the actions of the Communist Party at that time, Li Kenong used minsheng middle school as a secret activity base under the party line, and also established a "disaster relief center".
The students of Minsheng Middle School were pushed to the forefront for resisting the enslaved education of the Western powers, and Li Kenong led the students to fight against the Anhui warlord Chen Tiaoyuan. Subsequently, more than forty people of the Relief Society were arrested by the Public Security Bureau, the Minsheng Middle School was also sealed, and Li Kenong, who had fled to Nanjing, was wanted by Chen Tiaoyuan.
In the autumn of 1928, Li Kenong cooperated with Pan Hannian, a communist party member, to run a newspaper, and the cooperation process between the two was quite smooth, and they achieved relatively ideal goals and results. In 1929, Li Kenong was appointed as a member of the Propaganda Committee of The Central Shanghai District, and he had a foothold in Shanghai.
In his early years, Qian Zhuangfei broke into the central government with the support of Yang Dengying and became a senior official of the Kuomintang. On September 18, 1931, the Japanese invaded and occupied northeast China in an attempt to conquer China by force. With the gradual deepening of the degree of aggression against China, our party issued the "August 1st Declaration," advocating "uniting with Chiang Kai-shek to resist Japan and unanimously going to the outside world."

Li Kenong first took the initiative to approach Gao Fuyuan, an official in the northeast, and tried to use him as a springboard to talk about Zhang Xueliang.
With his advanced "disguise" skills, Li Kenong played a friend who was good at listening. He helped Gao Fuyuan, who was depressed at that time, to slowly get out of the haze, and gradually instilled the idea of "unanimous resistance against Japan" into Gao Fuyuan.
Gao Fuyuan went to Zhang Xueliang and talked in detail about the current military situation. Afterwards, Zhang Xueliang immediately decided to mobilize soldiers to detain Chiang Kai-shek and force Him to resist Japan, which played an important role in the initial formation of China's anti-Japanese national united front.
After the end of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Li Kenong arrived in Yan'an, laying a solid foundation for our party to carry out the work of building the north. Later, Li Kenong was appointed secretary of the intelligence organs of the CPC Central Committee and made indelible contributions to China's intelligence cause and underground work.
