When he first saw it, Cao Cao said, "He who makes a lonely man a great cause will also be this man." Guo Jia also said, "True Lord." Cao Cao then made Guo Jia the post of "Military Division".
The history books say that he was "a man of great strategy and a wonder of the world." Cao Cao praised Guo Jia for having seen people and being his own "Qizuo".
Guo Jia died of illness at the age of 38 when Cao Cao returned to the army at the Battle of Liucheng. In the same year, Liu Beisan Gu Maolu asked for the help of the great sage Zhuge Liang.
Cao Cao "mourned even more, said Xun You, etc.: All the kings are orphans in their years, but they only serve the least filial piety." The world's affairs are in the end, and they want to belong to the future, and they die in middle age, and their fate is also husband! ”
"It is said that the military sacrifice wine Guo Jia, since the conquest, has been ten years. Whenever there is a big discussion, the enemy will make a change. The policy is undecided, and the merits are successful. Calm the world, and seek merit for high. Unfortunately short-lived, career is not over. The remembrance of Jiaxun is unforgettable. It can increase the number of households by 800 and the first 1,000 households. ”
After Cao Cao's great defeat at Chibi, he sighed again: "Guo Fengxiao is here, do not let you be lonely here." "
Guo Jia always anticipated the enemy's opportunity, predicted the development trend of things, and often let Cao Cao make correct decisions on major issues, and the prophet Guo Jia, worthy of the name, was embodied in the following six things:

Soon after, Cao Cao arranged for Liu Bei to attack Yuan Shu, and Guo Jia and Cheng Yu rode over on horseback to advise Cao Cao: "Let it go, change it!" Sure enough, soon after, Liu Bei participated in Dong Chengyi's conspiracy to kill Cao Cao, and after fleeing on the pretext of fleeing, he rebelled against the army, and Cao Cao regretted that he did not listen to Guo Jia's advice and let Liu Bei go of this big problem. Otherwise, there would be no matter of Wei Shu and Wu dividing the world later.

When Cao Cao and Yuan Shaoguandu were in a standoff, Sun Ce had completely occupied Jiangdong and was preparing to cross the river north to attack Xuchang (the headquarters of Cao Ying at that time), and everyone in Cao Ying was very scared when they heard about it, and only Guo Jia expected to say: "Cexin and Jiangdong are all heroic and heroic, and those who can gain the strength of death are also." During the Battle of Guandu, the strength of Cao Cao's army and Yuan Shao's army was very different, Cao Cao had the idea of surrender, and Guo Jia tried his best to advise, entering the theory of "ten victories and ten defeats", Cao Cao confidently faced Yuan Shao, and sure enough, Cao Cao defeated Yuan Shao with a huge disparity in strength and won the Battle of Guandu.

Cao Cao's victory at Guandu, Yuan Shao's death, and his eldest son Yuan Tan and second son Yuan Shangyu in Liyang. Guo Jia advised Cao Cao: "Yuan Shao loves this second son, Mo Shiliye. There are Guo Tu and Feng Ji who are plotting for them, and they will fight each other and still be separated. Those who are anxious are held on to each other, and those who are slow and then compete for their hearts are born. It is better to march south to Jingzhou if you recruit Liu Biao, waiting for it to change; if it becomes and then strikes, it can be determined in one fell swoop. Cao Cao listened, so he marched south. Cao Cao's army reached Xiping, and Yuan Tan and Yuan Shang did indeed fight among themselves, and Yuan Tan was defeated by Yuan Shang, so he asked Cao Cao for surrender, so Ji Prefecture was decided.

Cao Cao prepared to send an army to conquer Yuan Shang and the three counties of Karasuma, and many people in Cao's camp were afraid that Liu Biao would make Liu Bei attack Xuchang, and Guo Jia said: "Although the Gong is mighty and powerful, Hu Is far away, and he will not be equipped." Because it is unprepared, it can be destroyed. And Yuan Shao had grace to Minyi, while the Shang brothers survived. Cao Cao obeyed. When Liu Bei asked Liu Biao to send troops to attack Xuchang, Liu Biao did not allow it, as Guo Jia expected.
