The result is named "Aerospace New Lightweight High-Load Structure and Its Efficient Optimization Design Technology and Application", focusing on the application of lightweight arrow structure of multi-type aerospace models such as the Long March 5 carrier rocket, a total of 13 new lightweight and high-load aerospace structures have been developed, high-precision analysis and efficient optimization design technology and corresponding software have been invented, and the carrying capacity or range of more than ten kinds of carrier rockets, large missiles and other major space equipment have been significantly improved.

The 2020 National Science and Technology Awards have been reviewed by the network review team, the discipline professional review team, the review committee and the award committee, and the Ministry of Science and Technology, and a total of 264 projects, 10 scientific and technological experts and 1 international organization have been selected. Among them, there are 46 National Natural Science Awards: 2 first prizes and 44 second prizes; 61 National Technological Invention Awards: 3 first prizes and 58 second prizes; 157 National Science and Technology Progress Awards: 2 special prizes, 18 first prizes and 137 second prizes. Eight foreign experts and one international organization won the International Science and Technology Cooperation Award of the People's Republic of China. At the conference site, President Xi Jinping presented the highest national science and technology award to Academician Gu Shufen of China Aviation Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Academician Wang Dazhong of Tsinghua University.
