"Rail Detective" opens 5 major railway arteries 9300 km winter "diagnosis and treatment"

Lanzhou, November 11 (Wu Fan, Zhu Xuecheng) At 5:30 a.m. on November 10, in the Dunhuang Comprehensive Industrial Zone next to Dunhuang Railway Station, the rail flaw detection carriages were brightly lit, and eight employees of the Lanzhou Engineering Machinery Section of the Lanzhou Railway Bureau were making preparations for the train. Two hours later, they were going to go from Dunhuang Station to Suganhu Station to conduct flaw detection operations on the rails along the Dunhuang Line.

Since the end of October, affected by cold waves and windy weather, the railway has entered a critical period of rail breakage, in order to ensure the safety of traffic, Lanzhou Railway Bureau has continued to increase the intensity of line improvement, and comprehensively "diagnosis and treatment" of high-speed rail lines and existing lines. This round of flaw detection is the first time that lanzhou railway bureau has used rail flaw detection vehicles to replace existing lines for periodic inspection.

According to Zhang Zhijun, director of the rail flaw detection workshop of the Lanzhou Engineering Machinery Section, rail flaw detection is a fine operation, and the flaw detector car uses ultrasonic flaw detection in driving, which is not only fast, but also has high measurement accuracy, which can effectively detect the actual state of the rail, and the efficiency is increased by nearly 30 times compared with manual car flaw detection.

At 7 o'clock, accompanied by the loud whistle of the flaw detector car, the 251-kilometer rail flaw detection operation officially began. Cui Rangjun, the person in charge of the construction of the rail flaw detection workshop, and Zhang Yongyong, the foreman, stood at the front of the car and looked ahead, and in front of the flaw detector operation table, the inspector stared at the display screen. Due to the large randomness of rail damage, the inspector must always look intently at the oscilloscope during the operation, collect flaw detection data according to the waveform display and wave outlet, and the data playback person analyzes and collects data one meter at a time, and records it at any time.

"We are about to enter the key area of damage, and we must keep an eye on the map and waveform changes to ensure the quality of the collected data." Foreman Zhang Yong will always give a few instructions when driving, prompting all workers to pay attention to the process and changes of the line, and avoid "misdiagnosis" and "missed diagnosis".

During the detection process, the internal damage of the rail is reflected in real time on the on-board computer display screen by markings of different colors and shapes, which requires professional and technical personnel to decode and convert it into a text report according to the rail damage pattern library, so that the line management unit can deal with it in time. Therefore, none of the teammates on the rail flaw detector car dare to be sloppy, after all, every flaw detection is directly related to the safety and smoothness of the railway line.

When the train travels between the two sections, the inspectors will switch positions to avoid eye strain. "At present, it is the critical stage of epidemic prevention and control, and it is also a critical period for winter rail prevention, and our nearly 14-hour flaw detection task every day is to carry out long-distance rail flaw detection operations on the bureau's high-speed rail and general speed railways, remove hidden dangers on the line, and ensure the safety of railway transportation." Zhang Yongyong said.

At 22:26 on the same day, the rail flaw detector completed the established flaw detection task and returned to Dunhuang Station.

It is understood that the rail flaw detection workshop of the Lanzhou Engineering Machinery Section will complete the rail flaw detection task of more than 9,300 kilometers of high-speed rail lines and existing lines in the overall tube of Zhongchuan Railway, Xulan High-speed Railway, Yinlan Passenger Railway, Yinxi High-speed Railway, Lanxin Line, Longhai Line and other high-speed rail lines and existing lines in the next 50 days.
