Occasionally on the river
Hu Xianhua
When the year is full of Jiangnan rice, the old age turns to the water boat.
The wood falls on the mountain and the cold offers itself, and the Shaming flock of geese is similar to each other.
Holding the body of Xu Baoqian Dragon Zhi, the whole world rebuked the eagle tour.
Negative hands patrol the bard place, and the lights of thousands of homes float across the river.

A Casual Note on the River
By HU Xiansu
Tr. ZHAO Yanchun
In season, south food I eat quite enough;
Late in the year, upstream a boat I ply.
In all the hills leaves fall to offer cool;
Sand bright, wild geese at dusk each to each cry.
A couchant dragon’s will I still hold fast
While the world sympathizes with wrens’ flight.
Hands joined behind my waist, I stroll to gaze;
The homes across the river bathe in light.
