Guiyang, China, November 10 (Zhou Yanling) The temperature has dropped and the chill has become thicker, and it is the season of migratory birds. As of November 10, more than 50,000 migratory birds have arrived in the Caohai National Nature Reserve in Weining, Guizhou Province, for the winter.
The seven migratory bird habitats of Caohai National Nature Reserve, such as Liujia lane, Zhujiawan and Wangjiayuan, are much more lively than ever, with birds such as black-necked cranes, gray cranes, spotted geese, egrets and pincer-billed storks, and all kinds of migratory birds either forage freely, or play happily in the water, or spread their wings and fly over the grass sea...
"This year's first migratory birds arrived nine days earlier than in previous years, and the number of migratory birds coming to winter is increasing every day." The staff of the Management Committee of Guizhou Caohai National Nature Reserve said that every day, the various habitats of migratory birds will be patrolled from time to time to ensure that the black-necked cranes that come to the grass sea for wintering are waiting for the birds to "live and live" and "eat and have a canteen".

Caohai is one of the largest wintering grounds for the world's endangered black-necked crane, and is known as the "hometown of China's black-necked crane" and "paradise for birds". Compared with 2005, the number of bird species in Caohai has increased from 203 to 246, of which 18 are newly discovered bird species in Guizhou.
As one of the first batch of national ecological civilization pilot zones in China, Guizhou will increase wetland protection from 2016 to 2020, and invest 4.080 billion yuan in all parts of the province to protect and restore wetlands. At present, 53 wetland parks have been built, with 24,547 known biological species, and the wetland protection rate in Guizhou will reach 53.61% as of 2020.
Wetlands are one of the world's important ecosystems and are known as the "kidneys of the earth". At present, all parts of China are stepping up efforts to protect wetlands, and Jilin has established a number of wetland reserves over the years, and since October, the vast wetland reserves in the central and western parts of the province have welcomed a large number of migratory birds.
The ecological function of wetlands is being restored, and there are more and more birds "new friends" in wetlands. In the Poyang Lake National Wetland Park Migratory Bird Sanctuary, more than 38,000 migratory birds have come here to overwinter, and a variety of rare migratory birds have appeared in Poyang Lake, such as the national first-class protected animal black stork appeared in the shoal, they and the egret frolicked and foraged, and there was a rare "black and white frame".
Sichuan Ruoerge Wetland National Nature Reserve has also ushered in a large number of migratory birds "resting and punching in", and the reserve has become a "transit station" for them to forage and replenish energy.
According to the data, China's wetland area has exceeded 800 million mu, ranking first in Asia and fourth in the world, and providing a habitat paradise for birds. (End)
