Zhong Rong (c. 468 – c. 518), courtesy name Zhongwei, was a literary critic of the Southern Chinese Dynasty. A native of Yingchuan Changshe (present-day Changge, Xuchang, Henan), after the Wei and Jin dynasties "Yingchuan Zhongshi". Qi Daiguan to Situ Xing joined the army. Entering Liang, he successively served as the king of Linchuan in the Chinese army, and the general of Xizhong Lang in the Jin'an Wang Ji room. After the twelfth year (513) of Emperor Tianjian of Liangwu, he imitated the precedent of the Han Dynasty's "Nine Pins on People, Seven Sketches", and wrote a poetry criticism monograph "Poetry". Mainly based on the five-character poems, the whole book divides 122 writers from the two Han Dynasties to Liang into three articles for comment, so it is called "Poetry". The Sui Shu Jing Shu Zhi (隋書· Ching Shu Zhi) wrote this book, and the title of the book is "Poetry Commentary", because in addition to the pindi, it also comments on the merits of the work. It was later named "Poetry". In "Poetry", Zhong Rong advocates wind power and opposes Xuanyan; Advocate the natural harmony of phonology and oppose the artificial theory of vocal disease; Advocating "direct search", opposing the use of classics, and proposing a set of standards for the evaluation of poetry in a more systematic way.
