Tao Xiaoai: Running to record the big times, "every day is the same as fighting"
Today is November 8, the 22nd Journalists' Day. Whether it is in the high-profile venue, the battlefield where the smoke and smoke are constant, the bustling city, or the vast field of rural revitalization... Female journalists can be seen. They are sensual, delicate, and good at listening; they are confident, calm, and dare to ask questions; and they are holding up the "half of the sky" of journalism with a vigorous posture. On the occasion of the 22nd Journalists' Day, Today's Women's Daily/Fengwang launched a special report on "Hunan Female Journalists' Stories", focusing on 19 representatives of outstanding female journalists from all over Hunan, all news units and all ages, recording their work history in fighting for China's journalism in different historical periods, showing the professional style of Hunan female journalists, and telling their moving stories.

【Journalist Profile】 Tao Xiaoai, former editorial board member of Hunan Daily and executive director of the local news center, has been fighting in the front-line news post for 30 years and has won the titles of "Top Ten Journalists" and "National March 8th Red Flag Bearer" in Hunan Province.

"I'm glad I chose journalism and had the opportunity to grow and take off with the times. I don't think I've lived up to the journalist's title of 'Uncrowned King'. In an interview with today's women's newspaper/Phoenix Network reporter, mentioning his own experience in the industry, Tao Xiaoai sighed.

In July 1983, Tao Xiaoai graduated from the Journalism Department of Chinese University, stepped into the gate of Hunan Daily, and was assigned to the Changsha Reporter Station as a resident reporter. The first press conference, Tao Xiao'ai held the book and pushed open the door of the conference room, the laughter in the room suddenly stopped, all the eyes brushed and brushed at her, Tao Xiao'ai was also blinded: a room full of male reporters!

"It's like the boy country suddenly bumped into a little girl, and there was doubt in their eyes, there was looking, and there was pickiness. Throughout the meeting, I felt awkward and lonely. After many years, Tao Xiao'ai still clearly remembers the situation at that time. At that time, the press station was in the middle of the alternating between the old and the new, and Tao Xiaoai, as the only "recruit" and the female reporter stationed at the station, was facing a completely unfamiliar world, and the difficulties could be imagined. With the pressure and motivation, Tao Xiaoai secretly made up his mind: "They think I can't do it, I want to do a good job!" I want to prove that lesbians can also make achievements! ”

The scrappy Tao Xiaoai soon encountered the first "roadblock". In order to facilitate the reporter's interview, the newspaper is equipped with a bicycle, but Tao Xiaoai has made a mistake: he can't ride. But at that time, public transportation was not developed, it was impossible to walk barefoot in the outside interview, the time was urgent, Tao Xiaoai learned for a few days, and then rode out on a bicycle to work. Tao's father was not at ease and secretly followed behind. Passing near Yuan Jialing, Tao Xiao'ai inadvertently looked back, saw his father not far away, and felt nervous, just in front of a bus coming, Tao Xiao'ai could not avoid it, and even people with bicycles were swept under the wheels!

Fortunately, Tao Xiao'ai only suffered a slight injury to his leg, and there was no major problem. But Tao's father was afraid and worried about another safety accident, and buckled his daughter's bicycle. But how about going out for an interview without a bike? Tao Xiao'ai took advantage of his father's lack of preparation, quietly pushed the car out and continued to embark on the road of interview.

Carrying an interview book on his back and riding a bicycle, Tao Xiao'ai came in the streets and alleys of Changsha in the wind and rain. State-owned enterprise reform, agricultural reform, industrial reform... She is a witness and recorder of the changes in Changsha City in the past 30 years, "I witnessed the introduction and promotion of many policies on the spot, and the leaders held meetings, and I recorded them on the side." Sometimes after more than ten hours of meetings, the hands are unconscious."

In order to report in detail on the series of reforms of a state-owned enterprise in Changsha, Tao Xiaoai traveled around, visited many parties, worn through three pairs of soles, and became a regular visitor to the bicycle repair shed near the newspaper. She spent more than half a year to write a number of reports, the report was published after the response was strong, many factory managers wrote one after another, believing that Tao Xiaoai's report gave them confidence and reference, is a good article, but also "timely rain".

Tao Xiaoai's pen has both big times and ordinary people. In February 1985, a girl abandoned by her changed heart husband found Tao Xiaoai. At that time, Tao Xiao'ai was about to get married, and her affairs were busy, but in the face of the girl's big eyes full of hope and desire, a strong sense of responsibility surged into her heart. Tao Xiao'ai decided to take time to interview this manuscript after Zhang Luo's marriage. Once, there was a room of hexi guests at home, Tao Xiaoai bought good food, prepared things for hospitality, explained other things to his family, held a pen and paper, and quietly came to the provincial library not far from home to write.

Who knew that the library reading room was not open at noon, and there was no more suitable place to go for a while, Tao Xiao'ai simply sat on the floor, with his knees as a table, and struggled to write a book. It was a cold winter, the cold wind was biting, the stone steps were even more cold, and after a while her hands and feet froze, she was unconscious, and the 3,000-word communication was waved. The library staff also thought she was a girl who had run away in disgust and was writing a desperate book.

Tao Xiaoai is a female warrior on the front line of the news, but also a mother, daughter and wife. But she also lamented that the profession of journalist is special, "every day is the same as fighting a war", and sometimes there are regrets in family life.

In the spring of 1990, Tao Xiao'ai was participating in a newspaper report on a typical case in Changsha County, when he suddenly found that his lower body was bleeding, and after seeking medical treatment, he learned that he was pregnant and had symptoms of threatened miscarriage. The doctor told her to stay in bed, but the report time was tight and the task was heavy, and it was too late to change temporarily. Tao Xiao'ai hid the sick leave, and even his family did not tell him, while taking medicine, he continued to participate in the tense writing of reports.

The report needs to go to the countryside to interview, the country roads are potholed, the reporters are still riding in trucks with poor shock absorption, all the way bumpy, Tao Xiaoai can only hold his stomach, minimize collisions, complete the task before returning to the hospital to protect the tire, and was also "scolded" by the doctor. Until the morning of the child's birth, Tao Xiaoai was still participating in the reporter's year-end summary. Fortunately, the child was born smoothly and unharmed.

In 1994, the Xiangjiang River suffered a century-old flood, and Tao Xiaoai immediately threw himself into the flood control report. On the embankment of Longwanggang, which could collapse at any time, in the vast ocean of Fengshun Embankment, on the ruins of the foothills that were baked by the sun and stinking, she wrote nearly 20,000 words of newspaper manuscripts. After running around in a harsh environment for half a month and only sleeping for a few hours a day, Tao Xiao'ai was tortured to the point of "no personal form". It was hard to finish, go home to see my daughter, but the 3-year-old daughter refused to shout "Mom", "So long did not care about her, she is angry with me."

Tao Xiao'ai summed up his journalistic career in six words - very hard, no regrets. "Every day I'm on the go, but every day there's something new and the days are full. I am satisfied that my words can record the times, can help the masses, and can make so many unknown readers become confidants with my gods through reports. My youth has no regrets. ”
