Beijing News (reporter Li Yan) On June 20, Korean media reported that YG Company had sent Han Ruixi, a singer trainee who took drugs with BIGBANG member T.O.P (real name Choi Seung-hyun) in 2016, for fear of affecting BIGBANG's new professional activities.

Subsequently, YG's chief producer, Yang Hyun-suk, issued a statement denying the media report: "First of all, I sincerely apologize for the controversy that has aroused everyone's concern in recent days. Everything reported in the media is just a one-sided statement of the whistleblower and has no factual basis. YG deliberately refrains from making statements about these things. In 2017, T.O.P. attended the first trial of the drug abuse case.

On June 1, 2017, T.O.P. was arrested on suspicion of smoking marijuana, and on July 20, the Seoul Central District Court rendered a first-instance judgment on the "T.O.P.'s Suspected Marijuana Smoking Case", sentencing T.O.P. to 10 months in prison for a two-year suspension and a fine of 12,000 won (about 72 yuan).
