The Bailing Temple was an important transportation town in Inner Mongolia at that time, a road connecting Outer Mongolia, and a road connecting the east and west of Inner Mongolia, which was a place where soldiers and families had to fight.

In order to achieve its aggressive goal, Japan supported the Sunit Right Banner Prince Demu Chuk Donglupu (abbreviated as "Dewang") who occupied the Lark Temple. At the end of 1935, the German king colluded with the Japanese. On February 12, 1936, manipulated by the Japanese invaders, a pseudo-"Mongol Army General Command" with the German king as the commander was established in the German king's palace, and publicly surrendered to the Japanese invaders.

Under the severe situation, on February 21, 1936, the progressive officers and soldiers of the "Mongolian Political Council" security team launched the Lark Temple Riot to oppose the Dewang's surrender to Japan.

As planned, the riots began at 23:30 on the 22nd. On the 21st, it was found that the enemy's dynamics were abnormal, and in order to prevent accidents, the riot was carried out 24 hours in advance.

At 23:30 on February 21, 1936, under the leadership of Yun Jixian, chief of the Security Department of the Mongolian Political Council, and instructors Yunwei and Zhu Shifu, the armed forces acted simultaneously in six ways, attacking the inspection office, seizing the armory, opening the detention center, destroying the radio station, and attacking and occupying the cadre training class.

The Bailing Temple Riot was an armed anti-Japanese operation carried out by more than a thousand officers and men of the Mongolian Political Council's security corps under the long-term influence and instigation of the CPC Simon Working Committee and Ulanf, which issued an uprising and telegram, announced its independence from the Mongolian Political Council controlled by the German King, and advocated an anti-Japanese patriotic stance. The Lark Temple riot was like a sudden wind and thunder on the grassland, which surprised the enemy. The Bailing Temple Riot struck a blow at The Manchu-Mongolian policy pursued by Japan, postponed the Japanese army's plan to invade Inner Mongolia, demonstrated the determination of the Mongolian people to oppose the aggression of Japanese imperialism and strive for victory, and wrote a brilliant page in the history of the Chinese people's War of Resistance Against Japan.
