With the premier league season just a few days away, it's time to predict United's squad and goals for this season.
Until now, Manchester United have renewed their contracts with Juan Mata and Cavani; acquired right-wing Jerdon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund; re-signed old goalkeeper Tom Heaton from Villa; and signed centre-back Varane from Real Madrid (only underwent).

Mata staying in the squad is definitely helpful, and his ability and experience can definitely help a group of young midfielders to improve. Cavani's impressive performance last season was convincing, and Greenwood has another year to learn from him, believing that next season he will be the banner. Since last season, he has said to buy, but due to the transfer fee problem, he finally made a shot this season, and Jaden Sancho can be said to have joined in a thousand calls. His ability is there for all to see at Borussia Dortmund, and joining can definitely help United balance the attacking power of the left and right flanks. Tom Heaton will be the team's third goalkeeper, while Varane will be the last piece of the puzzle in the defence. Although his performance last season was not outstanding, his progression is unquestionable. The 28-year-old is also a pawn, and his speed and shape are believed to form a solid central defender combination with Maguire. Until now, United's trades in the transfer market have been the right medicine, but the failure to reinforce the position in the midfield is a temporary failure.
Among the first team players last season, only goalkeeper Sergio Romero left the team for the time being, wishing him a bright future. United also have several young players loaned out to absorb experience, including wingers Tassie Chung and Fakundo Plyristri, goalkeeper Nathan Bishop and centre-back Axel Tuanzebe also loaned to Villa. In addition to the above players, Xiaobian feels that there are still many players in the team who will be abandoned or loaned out of the team.
Defensively, Phil Jones was plagued by injuries and giving up seemed like the only way to go. The return of Diogo Dalot would also directly force Brandon Williams away. Brandon Williams' debut was eye-catching, but his lack of playing time prevented him from going in and out, and he needed to borrow money to increase his chances of playing; but Diogo Dalot was by no means sure to stay in the team, and it was up to Kieran Trippier to join. Teddon Mengi should also lend or serve in the Youth Army.
In midfield, James Garner and Dylan Levitte should continue to draw on experience. Andreas Pereira has won some warm-up matches, but he should not be seen in the new season. Lingard's contract extension believes that the team does not want to lose money, either sell it or use it for itself, and should not lend it again.
On the front line, the addition of Jaydon Sancho has had a direct impact on the playing time of Amaderae Traorre, Daniel James and Anthony Eranga. Youngster Anthony Eranga can be winged, predicting that he may stay in the first team and wait. Daniel James has been stagnant for both seasons, and it is better for someone to buy it than to let him go, while leaving Amaderay Traoré can play a strange role.
Goalkeepers: David De Gea and Dean Henderson continue to be happy worries, Tom Heaton is the third goalkeeper and Lee Grant serves as the spiritual pillar.
Defensively: Maguire's partner Varane will be the right-back pair, with Eric Bai and Victor Lindelev on the bench. The season may begin with Maguire partnering Victor Lindlev to give Varane time to adapt and integrate. The defenders on both sides will be Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Luke Shaw, Diogo Dalot and Alex Tres.
Midfield: Pogba will return to the midfield, Nemanja Matic, Fred, Scott McTominay, a three-pronged pogba to fill in the gaps, the first choice will be Scott McTominay. The forwards continue to be Bruno Fernandez, with Van de Beek coming off the bench.
On the front line: Rashford and Jaden Sancho will be on the left and right, with Greenwood as a substitute, and Armad Traorre, Juan Juan and Daniel James vying for a chance to play. Anthony Elanga will be on the lookout. The forwards were rotated by Cavani and Greenwood. Marcus Rashford will take a two-month break from injury at the start of the season, and it is believed that Jayden Sancho will turn to the left and the right will be left to Greenwood to play.
In terms of playing style, Xiaobian predicts that it will be dominated by 4231, maximizing the ability of Bruno Fernandez, and the midfield relies on Pogba to dispatch in tandem. When they can't play against weak teams for a long time, they will switch to 4222 and push Pogba up one block. With the addition of Jaydon Sancho, United's attack on the left and right flanks will be more average than before, but it will still be mainly on the left side, supplemented by the right side. The attack does not have to worry too much, after all, there are many players on the bench who can change the game, but to worry about is the defense of the midfield, Scott McTominay can not be like Kante in the midfield to grab a large range, after all, Pogba's motor power and defensive awareness are general, which is also a necessary problem to be solved in the middle of Pogba's midfield.
United's squad this season is more complete than the previous season, and the strength is theoretically stronger than last season. Solskjaer no longer has any excuses. The League Cup, the FA Cup, how to win at least one. Champions League champions don't have to think about it, but the quarter-finals should be the basic goal, and you can't get out of the group stage again (unless you're in the group of the dead). The league is definitely about aiming for the championship, not fighting for the fourth. If all four are empty again this season, I think Solskjaer should be able to resign.
