More than ten years ago, when visiting the "Li's Eight Generations of Calligraphy and Painting Exhibition" at the Guilin Museum, I was overwhelmed by the paintings of several generations of Li's, especially Li Jishou's plum blossom paintings were vivid, and The ink plum was a must-have, unique, and known as the "Plum Blossom Holy Hand".
Today, when I visit Chongshan Village, I feel the cultural atmosphere prevailing in this small mountain village.
Chongshan Village, is a village in Luojin Town, Yongfu County, located 20 kilometers northeast of Yongfu County, for hundreds of years, profound cultural heritage, talents. The whole village is divided into Mo and Li surnames, of which Li's ancestral home is Jingzhou, Hubei Province, and fled the flood disaster in the early Qing Dynasty to migrate south here. Li Shi was initially a long worker, and then the first Li Shuqiao Zhongju, until 1902 Li Zenghua, the examination continued, and there were fourteen people in the five generations, and 5 Gongsheng. Among them, Li Xiyuan's sixth son, Li Jishou, and his father and son were all five in the middle, so the Li family had the reputation of "five fathers and sons, one discipline and two soldiers".
The Li family has been passing down calligraphy and painting for generations, and has the reputation of brushes such as the forest, which occupies an important position in the Guangxi painting world. During the Qianlong Dynasty, Li Xiyuan studied painting in Guilin, and studied under the famous Master Zhou Weigeng, who was good at recording water, learning flowers, and famous works. The last six sons Li Jishou learned to paint at the age of 8, You Shan painted plums, his garden has planted 72 kinds of chrysanthemums, 21 kinds of plum blossoms, specializing in painting chrysanthemums to depict plums, creating the style of Li's painting plums, the Li family has Li Xiyuan, Li Jishou, Li Mian, Li Yishou, Li Jinian, Li Hanhua and other collections of calligraphy and painting masters, both men and women, generations of no shortage of people, has been passed down for eight generations. Among them, Li Xiyuan and Li Jishou are the hangers among them.

In the seventeenth year of Daoguang, when Li Xiyuan was 57 years old, at the invitation of Li Kongchun, the brother of the Shanxi official, he took a boat north from Guilin, crossed the Lingqu River, went down the Xiang River through Dongting Lake, and went down the Yangtze River to Chibi to Wuchang, along the way he painted a total of 35 landscape paintings, and painted one poem at a time, showing the world the famous scenic spots on the banks of the Yangtze River and the Pearl River with poems and paintings, which was known as the "Map of the Thousand Mile River" of the Qing Dynasty, also known as the Yongfu version of the "Qingming Upper River Map".

Although the old house of the Li family in Chongshan Village has fallen into disrepair and is slightly damaged but basically well preserved, due to the distance from the bustling folk customs and simple and quiet nature, the seven old houses are divided into two sides of the laneway, each with a single high courtyard, mostly Qingzhong buildings, with nearly 300 years of history. The Li family compound can accommodate more than 100 people and is made up of five main houses enclosed by the courtyard wall and the gate building. Between the main gate tower and the main hall, there is a bluestone paved Yongdao, and there are two sets of stone carvings on the road, the left side of the sun shines on the river, and the right side reflects the mulberry field. The main hall is simple and open, with green brick and white slits on both sides of the gable, flying pavilion out of the eaves, and overlapping horse head high walls. The main house has three entrances, and the middle is connected by a patio and a cloister, which is the best-preserved ancient house in Yongfu County.
In 2011, Chongshan Village was awarded the first batch of historical and cultural villages in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, which confirmed the historical and cultural heritage of Chongshan Village.
