Recently, the former representative of South Korea's YG Entertainment Company, Yang Hyun-suk (Leung Hyun-seok), appeared in court for the first time on suspicion of interfering in police investigations.
In August 2016, Yang Hyun-sook was transferred to trial on suspicion of coercing Kim Han-bin to take drugs, asking the other party to retract his confession while under police investigation and help Kim Han-bin to give perjury, an intervention that directly led to the failure of the police investigation into Kim Han-bin that year.
It is understood that Kim Han-bin, an artist under Yang Hyun-suk's company, has been reported for drug abuse. During the course of the investigation, Yang Hyun-sook exerted pressure and physical threats on the whistleblower to demand that the whistleblower overturn all testimony. The matter was subsequently revealed, and the whistleblower reported to the National Rights Commission of Korea in June 2019, claiming that the previous testimony was overturned under pressure from YG.
Yang Xianshuo's case involves many cases, even involving Li Shengli's case, and the actions of artists under his company who take drugs and carry out illegal acts have been exposed one after another. According to prosecutors' statements, Mr. Yang also made physical threats to the informants of the drug incident: "Killing you alone is not a big deal. In this regard, Yang Xianshuo completely denied it at the trial on August 13, advocating innocence.
In the early stage of the Li Shengli incident, a wave of bloody storms was set off in the Korean entertainment industry, and the incident involved many artists and the behavior was extremely bad. Li Shengli is suspected of committing as many as nine illegal acts, exposing many ugly true features of the South Korean entertainment industry male Aidou. The incident was so shocking, and Yang Xianshuo's cover-up was indispensable.
In order to get rid of the prosecution's investigation, Yang Xianshuo also resigned from all positions at YG in the same year. On November 5, Mr. Yang appeared in court for the first time, but he maintained his previous claims and did not reflect on his actions. The whistleblower of the case and former YG entertainer Kim Han-bin will appear in court as a future witness, perhaps confronting Yeo Hyun-sook in court.
While Yang's defender denied it outright, he said that Yang Xianshuo had met the whistleblower before and had a brief conversation with him, but had not threatened the whistleblower.
In addition, in November 2020, Yang Xianshuo was exposed to suspected overseas gambling.
After investigation, it was learned that Yang Xianshuo had been gambling overseas for at least four years and had several illegal acts. Yang Xianshuo did not deny this, but actively cooperated with the prosecution in the investigation, and the court considered that his attitude of admitting mistakes was good and promised not to repeat the crime, so it did not impose an aggravated punishment on him, but only ended with a fine of 100,000 yuan.
However, Yang Xianshuo intervened in the police investigation this time, the circumstances of the incident are serious, and I wonder how the prosecution will pronounce the verdict? Whether the 52-year-old Yang Xianshuo will usher in the reversal of the case depends on what kind of result the final trial will be, but in any case, he will inevitably fall into the situation of late life.
