Liverpool's home stadium Anfield welcomed their all-time ace killer: Ian Rush, Liverpool's all-time top scorer scored a total of 346 goals for the Reds, which is also Liverpool's all-time goal record.
The amazing thing is that the Reds legend was Liverpool's sworn enemy in the same city as a child: "Toffee" Everton fans, have to make people feel the wonder of fate. Ian Rush began his professional career at Chester City, moving to Liverpool in 1980. He scored a record-breaking 44 goals in the FA Cup, 39 of which were scored during his time at Liverpool. Joining the Reds, he reached the peak of his career, helping Liverpool win five English League titles, five English League Cups, three FA Cups and a UEFA Champions Club Cup (the predecessor of the Champions League) in Anfield, where he won everything he could and did not fail in personal accolades: a pfa footballer, an English footballer and a European Golden Boot in 1984.
After hanging up his boots, Ian Rush returned to his parent team Chester in 2004 as the manager of the team that was in League Two at the time, but resigned after only eight months of coaching due to the continued failure of the record and the disagreement with the team president. After that, Ian Rush worked on television as a game commentator and more recently returned to Liverpool as a team's Goodwill Ambassador, representing the team at charity events around the world.
