"Mogadishu" is about the sudden outbreak of civil war in Somalia in the 1990s, and the lives of embassy personnel in the capital, Mogadishu, were threatened before they could evacuate.
In the midst of the chaos, embassy personnel in South and North Korea put aside their past grievances and worked together to find a way out of survival and retreat.
Judging from the plot of the story, you may recall a 2012 American movie "Escape from Tehran", which is how embassy personnel find a way out in a war-torn country.
But from the spiritual core, it is still the feelings of the North and South Koreans that I can't get tired of.
The first person to come into contact with this subject was JSA: Common Security Zone, which shocked me at how South Korea could shoot a country that was still hostile. 4 soldiers, from hostility to brotherhood, and then willing to sacrifice themselves in order to protect each other. It was very touching to see and very emotional.
In recent years, there is also a movie of the same genre that I like very much, "Agent", and its pattern, plot, and intention I think are higher than "JSA". Since then, he has fallen in love with Huang Zhengmin, and at the same time, he also admires Li Xingming's acting skills in the film.
The same is from hostility to pity for each other, even if it is a reunion after many years, it is still impossible to let go of the identity to share the feelings of mutual thoughts, can only yearn for a distance, with a small action, showing the small gifts sent by the other party, to show that the other party will never forget each other in their hearts. Seeing this plot is really tearful. Even if I look back on it now, I can still cry.
Mogadishu is also in this spirit, beginning with the two sides doing business and attacking each other.
But when the life of one party is threatened, it can still remember the friendship of compatriots and lend a helping hand.
But in the end, we still have to give up this feeling and return to the original world, not even daring to look at each other for the last time. It's a shame.
The characters in Mogadishu feel more real, and there are no great characters. Although the film was made in South Korea, the Embassy staff in South Korea was just as timid and afraid of death. When their lives are threatened, North Korean embassy personnel are still willing to abandon their ideology and turn to their brothers.
However, "Mogadishu" is slightly inferior to the first 2 films overall, and the portrayal of the feelings of both parties is not deep enough. But it's still a movie worth watching.
Boiled beans burning beans, beans crying in the kettle,
Ben is born from the same root, and he is too anxious to fry.
Human nature is always important and the same, and it can also be touched. In fact, I think we can make this kind of movie, not a simple story of black and white.
