Any novel, as long as there is such a heavy emotion in it, must be an excellent novel, must be able to impress the reader.
The reader's emotions fluctuate with the emotions of the characters in the novel, and if you want to fully mobilize the emotions of the readers, you must let the emotions of the story characters be touched to the greatest extent.
There is also a secret to amplifying the emotions of the characters, which is to create a huge contrast. The greater the contrast and the more intense the touch, the reader's emotions will rise and fall like a roller coaster.
What is contrast? It is the huge gap between the protagonist's cognition and the facts, expressed in one word, called "but". There are many such contrasts in "Dream of the Red Chamber", such as Miao Yu, who is the most pure, but finally fell into the wind and dust; Jia Baoyu, who most wants to protect his sister and sister, finally let Qunfang be separated from him, etc., which have caused the reader to sigh deeply.

In contrast, the better the memories, the sadder they are now. This is the great sense of tragedy that the contrast produces.
Therefore, when writing novels, we should pay more attention to those who are in the emotional whirlpool, such as desperate gamblers, rebellious teenagers, people who have lost love, depressed people, poor couples, parents who have lost their children, people who have a blood feud, and so on. In them, there are a lot of wonderful emotional dramas.
The core element of a good novel is conflict. Under certain boundaries, the greater the conflict, the better. Everyone who reads the novel, while deeply worrying about the protagonist, is secretly praying to make the conflict more violent! Everyone loves those shocking and thrilling plots.
Some people abroad describe this psychology as "the principle of the scene of a car accident", just as people will stop and watch when they drive to a car accident scene, and people like to watch stories and like to see how a person makes a mess of life.
The overall idea of the classic American drama "Desperate Housewives" is this, to let the housewives in the story live in a chicken feather, such as letting a housewife with a clean habit and always holding on, the husband cheating, the son is gay, the daughter is pregnant early, and the life is a mess.

As an author, the first thing to consider is how to make the conflict more violent and make the plot more impactful. For example, in the case of keeping the protagonist from dying, let him infinitely approach death. The way of thinking to be used here is called extreme thinking.
The more intense the conflict, the more the climax can reach its peak. The more arduous the struggles in the past, the more exciting the moments when dreams come true. In the movie "Wrestling Bar Daddy", when the daughter finally won the championship, her father, who had worked hard to overcome countless difficulties along the way to cultivate her, burst into tears. The texture of the novel lies in the details.
Conceiving details starts with the right way of thinking. People have many ways of thinking, including divergent thinking, linear thinking, non-linear thinking, logical thinking, holistic thinking, and so on. And extreme thinking is the magic weapon for conceiving details. The limit is not equal to exaggeration, but to imagine the limit and express to the limit.
