There is a Xiangshan Park in Guilin, Guangxi, and its iconic attraction "Elephant Trunk Mountain" is famous all over the world. There is also a Xiangshan Park in Yingtan City, Jiangxi Province, which is not only an integral part of the Longhushan Global Geopark, but also originates from the Xiangshan Academy, the birthplace of Chinese philosophy "Mind Studies". Founded by Lu Jiuyuan in the fourteenth year of the Southern Song Dynasty (1187 AD), Xiangshan Academy was once the four major academies of the Southern Song Dynasty, and was on a par with the Lushan White Deer Cave Academy.
The historical status of Xiangshan Academy is due to Lu Jiuyuan (1139-1193). Lu Jiuyuan, Zi Jing, Cun Zhai, known as Mr. Xiangshan, is a native of Jinxi County, Jiangxi. He started from Jinxi and reached Guixi. First as an official, then as a lecturer, Xiangshan Academy was founded in guixi, present-day Yingtan, and thousands of talents were trained. He was on a par with Zhu Xi at that time, and argued with Zhu Zi at the Goose Lake Academy in Shangrao Lead Mountain, leaving behind a good story of "a debate through the ages". More than 300 years later, his learning was integrated by the Ming Dynasty thinker and military scholar Wang Shouren, known in history as "Lu Wang Xinxue".
Lu Jiuyuan is a historical and cultural celebrity of Yingtan, and the Xiangshan Park in Xiangshan Village, Xiongshi Street, Guixi City, Yingtan City, was established under the name of Mr. Xiangshan, which is a good memorial to him. Elephant Mountain belongs to the extension of Longhu Mountain, the same Danxia landform, or steep or stacked, or towering or gorge, strange shape, colorful, lush forests, peaks and peaks, people linger.
Lu Jiuyuan stipulated that the purpose of Xiangshan Academy is: to be reasonable, to be wise, to be wise, and to be a person. Its "being a human being" includes three meanings: one is to be an upright person, the other is to be a saint who can "prepare the way", and the third is to be a superman who is "omniscient and omnipotent", which shows the high requirements. Jiangxi Copper Impression Culture and Creative Co., Ltd., as the leading enterprise in the copper culture industry of Yingtan City, the "Copper Capital of the World", has always taken the production of bronze statues for local historical and cultural celebrities as a major event to show the company's feelings and practice cultural responsibilities.
The bronze sculpture "Lu Jiuyuan" is one of the outstanding bronze statue works. I saw Mr. Xiangshan sitting on a rock, behind which was the towering Elephant Mountain and the Xiangshan Academy standing on the summit. Lu Xiangshan was dressed in a Song Dynasty costume crown, with his left hand twisting his whiskers and his right hand pressing a stack of lecture notes, as if he was contemplating deeply. At the mountainside, surrounded by a white cloud, which complements Mr. Lu's solemn expression, the whole shape reflects the image of a great Confucian who "establishes a heart for heaven and earth, establishes a destiny for the people, continues to learn from the saints, and opens up peace for all the worlds".
On the base of the bronze statue, the line "China's Guixi World Elephant Mountain" is very inspiring. Xiangshan is the world, which has two meanings, one is that Xiangshan Park is a world natural heritage and a composition of the World Geopark Longhu Mountain; the other is that Lu Jiuyuan (Lu Xiangshan), as a representative figure of ancient Chinese philosophy and traditional Chinese culture, is not only Guixi and Yingtan, but also the world. To this end, some people in the cultural circles suggested that a large bronze sculpture of Lu Jiuyuan be established in Guixi Xiangshan Park. (Mei Qiyan)
