According to the website of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Shanxi University, at 9:00 a.m. on July 6, the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering held the "Inaugural Meeting and the First Expert Consultation Meeting of the Steering Committee for the Construction of Chemical Disciplines of Shanxi University" in the second conference room of the conference center. Professor Lin Jianhua, former president of Peking University, Professor Liu Diansheng of Shanxi University, Professor Chen Xing of Peking University, and Professor Li Jinghong of Tsinghua University attended the meeting, and Professor Ma Yuguo, Professor Gao Yiqin of Peking University and Professor Chen Xiaoming of Sun Yat-sen University attended the meeting by remote video.

According to the report, Huang Guitian, president of Shanxi University, read out the "Notice of Shanxi University on the Establishment of the "2+4" Discipline Discipline Construction Steering Committee" and the list of the Steering Committee for the Construction of Chemical Disciplines: Professor Lin Jianhua of Peking University as the chairman of the committee, Professor Li Yadong of Tsinghua University as the vice chairman, Professor Ma Yuguo of Peking University, Professor Liu Diansheng of Shanxi University, Professor Chen Xiaoming of Sun Yat-sen University, Professor Chen Xing of Peking University, Zhang Donghui, researcher of Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, professor Li Jinghong of Tsinghua University, Professor Xi Zhenfeng of Peking University and Professor Gao Yiqin of Peking University served as committee members, and issued letters of appointment to the participating members on the spot.

According to public reports, Lin Jianhua received both undergraduate and doctoral degrees from Peking University and has been teaching at the university since 1986. His research interests are in solid-state chemistry, mainly engaged in the synthesis, structure, physical and chemical properties of transition metal composite oxides, new microporous borates, rare earth-transition metal intermetallic compounds, and has served as the dean of the School of Chemistry at Peking University.

At the above-mentioned meeting, Professor Lin Jianhua delivered a speech on behalf of the committee, China's higher education has good development potential, and the construction of high-level research universities requires an overall strategic layout and long-term development goals.
