Xinhua Network Chongqing August 1 (Han Menglin intern Tang Shixue) Dragon Tank Scenic Area, Stalagmite River, Zhang Fei Temple... When you think of these names, you will definitely think of the beautiful city of Yunyang on the Yangtze River. But do you know that in the depths of the mountains of Yunyang, in a quiet and peaceful small mountain village, stands a feudal landlord manor of the late Qing Dynasty that has been best preserved and strangely constructed in the Yudong region, and the spring breeze of the autumn moon in 150 years cannot wash away the lead of history. In May 2013, the Peng Ancestral Hall was approved by the State Council and announced as a national key cultural relics protection unit, and Yunyang County is carrying out further tourism development. Today, let's follow the aerial shot and take a look at this mysterious castle that has been engraved with the mark of the seat of time. Peng's Ancestral Hall, also known as PengJialouzi, is located in Liming Village, Lishi Township, Yunyang County, and was built in the third year of Qing Tongzhi (1864). The temple sits west to east, adopts a compound courtyard layout, and covers an area of 3500 square meters. Peng's Ancestral Hall is a group building combining ancestral hall and Wubao, integrating sacrifice, protection and accommodation, with a rigorous layout, a grand scale, handsome and majestic, and exquisite ornamentation. There are 13 stone carvings of calligraphy and painting by Peng Juxing, a famous domestic calligrapher and painter in modern times, which are important cultural relics and historical materials for studying the architectural style and plastic arts of the eastern residential houses in the late Qing Dynasty.

The entire ancestral hall is built on the mountain, with a stacked courtyard, a rigorous structure and a clever design. In front of it, there is the main entrance hall and the theater building, and in the back there is the enjoyment hall, and the two sides are box rooms, which are the main places for gathering, sacrifice, shelter from war and life. The outer wall consists of a gate, a four-cornered fort, a passageway and stables. The inner layer is built with a two-meter-thick wall, and the arrow tower inside the wall is equipped with 36 lookout firing holes for long-range targets and long-range defense. The defense system inside the ancestral hall is cleverly arranged, with reasonable design, complete functions, easy to defend and difficult to attack. This fully functional defensive building is unique among the existing ancestral halls in the Bayu area and is a detailed cultural relic for the study of ancient military defense systems. "There is Wu Tu's second surname in the north, and Peng Xue's second family in the south", which describes the Peng family, which was very prosperous. In order to show its strength and culture, the designers of the ancestral hall also spent a lot of money to invite celebrities to write poems and ancestral training, and asked famous teachers to carve flowers, birds, insects and fish on the walls of the ancestral hall. So far, more than 20 calligraphy and painting seal engraving works such as Peng Juxing, Liu Anzhen and Yao Renshou, famous calligraphers and painters in modern Yudong, have been preserved, which have high historical, cultural, artistic and cultural relics value. Peng's Ancestral Hall integrates the natural environment and humanistic architecture, and its rich historical and cultural connotation occupies a unique position in Bayu culture, and is a special example of China's modern ancestral hall architecture, fortifications and residential buildings.
