Sima Zheng ,Emperor Hui of Jin (259–307 CE), a native of Wen County, Hanoi (present-day Wen County, Henan). The second emperor of the Western Jin Dynasty, the second son of Sima Yan, emperor of the Jin Dynasty, and the half-brother of Sima Chi, the emperor of The Jin Dynasty.

In 267 AD, the nine-year-old Sima Zheng was made crown prince, in 272 AD, Sima Zheng was ordered by Emperor Wu of Jin to marry Jia Chong's daughter Jia Nanfeng as a crown princess, and in 290 AD Sima Yan died, Sima Zheng officially took the throne, honoring Yang Zhi as empress dowager, Li Jia Nanfeng as empress, Yang Jun as a taifu to assist the imperial government, and Sima Song the Prince of Guangling as the crown prince. Sima Zheng trusted Jia Nanfeng very much, so Jia Nanfeng's desire for power grew, first by forging Sima Zheng's edicts, plotting to kill the Yang Jun family, deposing the empress dowager, and killing Sima Liang, the dazai, to take control of the government. In 299, Jia Nanfeng married the crown prince Sima Suo, deposed the crown prince, and murdered the crown prince the following year.

The court ministers were very dissatisfied with Jia Nanfeng's behavior during the murder of the crown prince, and Sima Lun, the king of Zhao, took the opportunity to forge an edict to depose and kill Jia Nanfeng, and made Sima Zang, the son of the late crown prince Sima Suo, the emperor's grandson, and controlled the imperial government, although Sima Zheng was still sitting on the throne at this time. In 301 CE, Sima Lun made Sima Zheng emperor, killed sima Zang, the emperor's grandson, and established himself as emperor, while Sima Zheng was completely reduced to a puppet and imprisoned in Jin Yongcheng.

In 301, Sima Ran the Prince of Qi, Sima Ying the King of Chengdu, Sima Yong the Prince of Hejian and Sima Qi the Prince of Changshan rebelled against Sima Lun, Sima Lun was defeated and killed, Sima Zheng was elected and restored, and Sima Shang, the Prince of Xiangyang, was made the emperor's grandson, but the power of the dynasty was still in the hands of Sima Lun. In the same year, Sima Ying the King of Chengdu, Sima Ying the Prince of Hejian, Sima Xin the Prince of Xinye, and Sima Yu the Prince of Fanyang met in Luoyang to oppose Sima Yuan, and Sima Qian killed Sima Yuan and became a courtier.

In 303 AD, Sima Ying, the king of Hejian and Sima Ying, the king of Chengdu, joined forces to attack Luoyang, and finally defeated and killed the ruling King Sima Qi of Changsha, and in 304 Sima Ying deposed the crown prince Sima Qin and made Sima Ying the emperor's brother-in-law, and Sima Ying and Sima Ying had exclusive power. In August of the same year, Sima Ying was defeated by the Anbei general Wang Jun, and Sima Ying took Sima Zheng hostage and fled to Luoyang, and in November, Sima Zheng was kidnapped by Sima Zheng's general Zhang Fang to Chang'an, and Sima Ying once again took power in Chang'an.

In 305, Wang Jun and Sima Yue, the king of Fanyang, promoted Sima Yue, the king of the Eastern Sea, as co-lord, and at the end of the same year, Wang Jun assisted Sima Yue in attacking Chang'an and Sima Yue's Xianbei army invaded Chang'an, Sima Ying was killed, and Sima Yue, the king of the Eastern Sea, successfully took Emperor Hui of Jin back to Luoyang. During the rebellion of the Eight Kings of the Central Plains, Sima Zheng was held hostage by the kings and humiliated, and Sima Zheng, who had just returned to Luoyang, had not yet enjoyed a few days of happiness, and suddenly died in 307 AD, at the age of forty-eight, and his younger brother Sima Zhao (Emperor Huai of Jin) succeeded to the throne.

Sima Zheng's allusions

Cheating solutions

Sima Zheng was not very bright from his small brain, and Sima Yan was very worried. In order to test Sima Zheng, Sima Yan deliberately asked several questions to test him. After Sima Zheng got the question, he didn't know how to answer it. Jia Nanfeng immediately invited a learned person to dictate the answer for Sima Zheng, and Sima Zheng wrote down the answer, and after Sima Yan read the answer sheet, he thought that it was really Sima Zheng who answered, so he did not replace the crown prince.

Why not eat minced meat

One year there was a famine, the people had no food to eat, and there were people starving to death everywhere. The ministers below reported the situation to Sima Zheng, but Sima Zheng said to the people below, "Why don't they eat porridge?" The people who reported it were crying and laughing, and Sima Zheng was really not online.

The reason why Sima Zheng was made crown prince

As the second son Sima Zheng was made crown prince because his elder brother Sima Zheng died very early, there are theories that Sima Yan wanted to pass the throne to his favored and clever grandson Sima Song in the future, and that Sima Yan did not want to pass the throne to his younger brother Sima You. Why did Sima Zheng have low intelligence, and Sima Yan still made him crown prince?

1, Sima Song was intelligent since childhood, much stronger than his father Sima Zheng, and Sima Suo grew up next to Sima Yan, Sima Yan once boasted that Sima Suo inherited Sima Yi's excellent genes and would revitalize the Sima family, so he could tolerate Sima Zheng's stupidity. 2. Sima Yan's throne has come to twists and turns, and it is very clear that Sima You is very good, but Sima Yan has selfish intentions to "stand up for a long time and not stand up for a virtuous", otherwise it means that he is not in the right position.

However, Sima Zheng, the Emperor of Jinhui, apparently could not solve the political difficulties of his reign, causing the Rebellion of the Eight Kings, and he himself became a puppet of others, and was eventually poisoned by Sima Yue, the king of the Eastern Seas.
