Hirose starred in the 2017 film Cheerleader Dance: The True Story of a High School Girl Conquering America with a Cheerleading Dance. The TV series is set in nine years after the film's story, with Suzu Hirose also playing the protagonist Yunaga Hikari. In the TV series, Tomono Hikaru is the coach of JETS, a cheerleading club at Fukui Chuo High School, and Wakaba Fujitani, played by Tsuchiya Taiho, saw the cheerleading performance on TV when he was a child and was full of yearning for JETS.

Hirose said: "When I heard that 'Cheerleader' was going to make a TV series, I had all kinds of imaginations in my heart. After learning that the lead actor is Tai Feng, I really think that there is absolutely no problem. She also revealed her inner thoughts: "If only Tai Feng could have the same idea of Cheerleaders as I do." It's really a wayward idea. Tsuchiya taeho also said, "Although I have filmed advertisements and participated in events with Suzu Hirose, when we chatted, we talked about when we hoped to shoot together. It was a real pleasure to learn that we were able to work together on a TV series. After filming together on the set, I was really impressed to see that Suzu Hirose could play so many roles so well. ”

Cheerleaders begin airing on TBS every Friday at 22:00 in July.
