Xiao Zhuoji, born in December 1933 in Shantou, Guangdong Province, was admitted to the Department of Economics of Chinese University in September 1953, majoring in political economy, and was recommended to study political economy because of his character and excellence over the third year, under the supervision of Professor Song Tao, a famous Chinese economist.

After graduation, Xiao Zhuoji was assigned to the Department of Economics of Peking University, and in only 7 years, he was promoted from lecturer to doctoral supervisor step by step, becoming one of the few doctoral supervisors in the field of economics at that time, and began to enjoy the State Council's expert allowance with outstanding contributions in 1992.

In the field of China's economic development strategy, economic system reform, property rights system, foreign-related economy and other research fields, he has published a series of innovative views, written 12 books, more than 300 papers, and edited more than 20 monographs, about 15 million words, which have had a great impact at home and abroad.

He is also one of the earliest scholars engaged in the theoretical research of the securities market in China, and has played an important role in the construction and improvement of China's securities market.

Siu is not only a well-known scholar, but also a well-known social activist who holds many social positions.
