The dust of history - Wuxia Amon to the general Lu Meng

When Guan Yu attacked Xiangfan, flooded the Seventh Army, and threatened Huaxia, Wu Guozheng quietly launched a surprise attack, captured Guan Yu, and recaptured Jingzhou. This action plan gives full play to the spirit of "seven points of politics, three points of military", from the idea of thinking to implementation, Lü Meng is the first to do. Such a powerful Lü Meng, when he first emerged, in the minds of many people, he was still just a straw bag-level general, why was the transformation so successful? On the third day of Shibetsu, it is impressive to say that Lü Meng is regarded as a straw bag, which should not be exaggerated. Although Lü Meng has repeatedly built up his miraculous feats, he has read very little, and he still has to find someone to catch a knife. Probably for this reason, Lu Su looked down on him. After Zhou Yu's death, Lu Su took over the defense of Lukou and pinned down Guan Yu in Jingzhou. Once, when Lu Su was passing by Lü Meng's garrison and was reluctant to visit him, someone persuaded: "General Lü's meritorious name is becoming more and more prominent day by day, and he can no longer treat him with the attitude of the past, and he should go to visit." Lu Su reluctantly went to visit Lü Meng. Lü Meng set up a banquet to entertain Lu Su, and when the wine was hot, Lü Meng asked Lu Su, "You are shouldering the heavy responsibility of the state and being a neighbor of Guan Yu, what are the strategies to prevent accidents?" Lu Su said perfunctorily, "Adapt to changes." Lü Meng said solemnly, "Although the East and the West (referring to Wu and Shu) are one family now, Guan Yu is like a bear and a tiger, so how can we not draw up a plan in advance?" After speaking, he stated five sets of strategies to deal with Guan Yu. Lu Su was greatly surprised to hear this, patted Lü Meng's back, and said, "I thought you only had martial arts, but I didn't expect you to know such a point." Lu Su happily praised Lü Meng: "The knowledge of Yingbo is no longer the Wuxia Amon of the past." When Lü Meng heard the praise, he also said proudly, "Three days after the farewell, that is, even more impressive." What factors, what secret recipes, made Lü Meng reborn, from a martial artist to a well-informed general? The answer is reading, which is not directly related to the behavior of soldiers and horses, dancing swords and swords.

The key figure whose knowledge must be transformed into the ability to guide Lü Meng's transformation is Sun Quan. Sun Quan once encouraged Lü Meng and another general, Jiang Qin, to say, "Now that you are in important positions and in charge of the military, you should study more and increase your insight." Lü Meng complained that the military affairs were complicated, and I was afraid that he would not allow time to study. Sun Quan said, "I don't want you to study the scriptures and become a doctor, but to read more books and understand the past." Moreover, no matter how busy you are, I don't have much to do, when I was a child, I read the Book of Poetry, the Book of Shang, the Book of Rites, the Zuo Zhuan, and the Chinese, but only the I Ching did not read. Since he commanded major events (took power), he has read the "Three Histories" ("History", "Book of Han", "Dongguan Hanji") and various military books, and has gained greatly." Sun Quan cited Liu Xiu and Cao Cao's inability to release scrolls and tireless learning as an example to encourage Lü Meng and Jiang Qin to read more books, and at the same time published a list of books, including "Sun Tzu's Art of War", "LiuTao", "Zuo Zhuan", "Chinese", "Shiji", "Book of Han", "Dongguan Hanji" and other books. Lü Meng was indignant and worked hard, and this reading made a realm, and Sun Quan and Lu Su praised him. Looking back at Sun Quan's exhortation to Lü Meng, the meaning is very clear: when a general reads a book, he does not want to study the scriptures, but to understand the past through reading. In his interpretation of Clausewitz's Treatise on War, the Japanese writer Takeo Ohashi said: "Since ancient times, good generals have rarely been born from erudite officers, and most of them have been characters who have no time to cultivate a lot of knowledge in the face of circumstances." "Trivial knowledge is not good for cultivating generals."

In other words, reading is expensive to use, and knowledge must be transformed into ability. Don't be inexhaustible, like the average student. Guan Yu's reading of "Spring and Autumn" has a legend about Guan Yu, although it is purely fictional, but it is very interesting, which can confirm the aforementioned point of view: Guan Yu loves to read "Spring and Autumn", loves to talk about "Spring and Autumn", and can do things, often without using the truth in the "Spring and Autumn" book. One day, Liu Bei saw Guan Yu reading Spring and Autumn with his head buried, and said, "Second brother, do you remember reading Spring and Autumn every day?" Guan Yu said, "I'm like a stream of backs." Liu Bei said, "I will test you." Qi Huan recruited a wise man and personally went to see a very talented and learned petty official." Guan Yu immediately continued, "He has not seen him three times. Someone advised him not to go again, but he did not give up, and he went twice later before he saw the petty officer. Since then, everyone has praised Corporal Qi Huan." Liu Bei said, "That year, I took care of Maolu three times, and you persuaded me not to go three times, what is the reason?" Guan Yu couldn't answer, so he bowed his head and flipped through the book. One day, Guan Yu was reading "Spring and Autumn" again, and Liu Bei went to ask, "Second brother, this book is useless to read, why waste time?" Guan Yu said, "Such a good book is of great use." Liu Bei said: "The role of this book is great, and Cao Cao told a story from the Spring and Autumn Book in Huarong Dao, so that he could escape death." When Guan Yu heard this, he was ashamed of himself. On that occasion, he led his troops to intercept Cao Cao at Huarong Road. Cao Cao said, "The general is familiar with the Spring and Autumn Interpretation, and he knows that the Weiguo sent Yu Gongzhisi to pursue Zi Mao's widow. Zi Mao was the teacher of Master Genggongzhisi. He deliberately shot four headless arrows back to the mission. In the old days, I was not thin as a general." Therefore, Guan Yu let Cao Cao go. He regretted this matter very much, and today Liu Bei mentioned it again, and he was eager to tear up "Spring and Autumn" in a fit of anger. Liu Bei hurriedly stopped and said, "It's not that the Spring and Autumn book is not good, it's that you haven't read it through!" Since then, Guan Yu's reading of "Spring and Autumn" has focused on understanding. (The story is quoted from shen bojun et al.'s "Dictionary of romance of the Three Kingdoms") A good sentence "emphasis is on comprehension", whether it is academic research, whether it is workplace competition, or the cultivation of enlightenment, isn't what you want is the word "comprehension"? Many friends leave school and do not look at the books, thinking that books are useless things, think of the example of Wuxia Amun becoming the general Lü Meng, perhaps there will be some experience!
