On July 22, 1941, one of the founders of the Soviet Armored Corps, Stalin's confidante General, commander of the Western Front, General Pavlov, was sentenced to death by the Soviet Military Tribunal for dereliction of duty, inaction, violation of the oath of the soldiers, forgetting the duty to the motherland, confusing the military's morale, poor command, causing a large number of materials to fall into the hands of the enemy, and a large number of officers and men of the Western Front died in vain.
If pavlov's lack of command and panic on June 22, 1941, were not enough to sentence him to death. Then he inexplicably evaporated on the second day of the war, until the soldiers of the Western Front fled alone when the Minsk fortress fell, resulting in a large amount of military supplies falling into the hands of the enemy, nearly 500,000 officers and men were killed or captured, and the Western Front was almost completely destroyed. Later, when pavlov was retried in 1957, an author named Ivan Andreevich Brutsky published a rather unique article in the magazine. The eloquent description of how Pavlov was wronged, how his family was sent to Siberia and executed in secret, without any sparing circumstances, all as if it were a matter of course, attracted the attention of many readers.
As soon as the article was published, there was an uproar, but soon a woman went to the publisher to ask for clarification, a woman named Alexandra Fyodovna Kutsnetsova, the wife of Major General Pavlov. The poor woman angrily pointed out that the author exaggerated in the text! Although her husband was not tried fairly and her family was indeed exiled to Siberia and died there, they were not secretly executed, and she and her children are still alive!
Speaking of Pavlov's wife and their marriage, it goes back to the time when the Soviet Union was just established, when Pavlov, who was still a rising star in the Soviet Army, was studying at the Soviet Military Academy in 1923, and it was also that year that Pavlov met his future wife, Alexandra Fyodovna Kutsnetsova.
Pavlov, who had read many domestic and foreign literature, fell in love with the girl at first sight, so he imitated the knight in the book and went to Alexandra's house every day to express his admiration to her, making a romantic model. At first, Alexandra's father, Fyodor Kuznetsov, looked down on the young man with thin hair, and his courtesy, combined with his shiny head shining in the sun, looked ill-intentioned, so Pavlov was chased away by this father every time he came.
This Fyodor Kucnetsov is not the commander of the Northwest Baltic Front, Fyodor Kuznetsov, and please do not confuse. In fact, Fyodor was a very common name in both Tsarist Russia and the Soviet Union, and Kuznetsov was also a big surname, just like our Zhao Qiansun Li, so it is not surprising that the same name has the same surname.
Later, Fyodor Kutsnetsov traveled abroad for work, and when he returned, he heard his neighbors say that his daughter had left with the army, so Angry Fyodor found Pavlov and wanted to question where his daughter had gone. When the angry father rushed into Pavlov's headquarters, Pavlov, who had been promoted to regimental commander, cried out "Father" in surprise, and the air instantly froze.
Only then did the elder Kuznetsov figure out what had happened, and it turned out that his daughter had not gone with the army, but had married the bald boy. Pavlov, who understood his father-in-law's intentions, showed his marriage certificate with a diligent face and greeted his father-in-law like a filial son, and finally got his father-in-law's approval. Later, Pavlov's father-in-law died of illness and was not implicated.
In October 1941, three months after The execution of General Pavlov, it was also the time of the Moscow Defense War. The military tribunal of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Gorky Region arrested Pavlov's family in accordance with the Soviet military criminal law: his father, George Vasilievich Pavlov, his mother, Ekaterina Stepanovna Pavlov, and Pavlov's sister, Maria Pavlov. Pavlov's parents were exiled to Siberia-Krasnoyarsk Krai to serve 5 years in prison. The local economy mainly relies on animal husbandry, firewood, mineral maintenance, agriculture mainly grows hardy and flood-resistant crops, and mechanical processing can only be regarded as a second-rate industry in the local area. A month later Pavlov's wife Alessandra and her mother, Kalavedia Mikhailovna Kutsnetsova, pavlov's son Boris Dmitrievich Pavlov, and daughter Ida Dmitryevna Pavlov were also arrested and sentenced to 5 years in exile in Urals. However, because her daughter Ada is only 12 years old, it is fortunate to be handed over to a military-affiliated nursing institution to raise and educate on her behalf.

When Alexandra's mother, Kalavidea, died of illness in 1947, and because Alexandra was heartbroken, Pavlov's son Boris took over the task of clearing his father's name. But the impulsive Boris used the wrong approach, resulting in his arrest in 1950 and sentenced to 15 years of hard labor.
Three years later, the Moscow Military Tribunal reopened the Pavlov family case, and in view of the insufficient evidence in the wartime, the charges against Pavlov's family were dropped, the reputation of Pavlov's parents, sister and wife and children was restored, and Boris was released, but the reputation of Major General Pavlov was not restored.
In July 1957, Khrushchev personally intervened in the retrial of the Pavlov case, and ruled that the collapse of the Western Front in 1941 was explained by objective reasons and could not be attributed entirely to Pavlov's panic and dereliction of duty at that time, so pavlov was restored to his reputation and rank, and his body was transferred from the Komonalka graveyard cemetery to the New Virgin Cemetery for rebury. Pavlov's wife lived in Minsk until her death in 1988. Pavlov's son Boris died in 1995, and his daughter Ida received her doctorate in economics in 1953 and died in 2010.
