Guangzhou, November 29 (Reporter Cheng Jingwei) Rongbaozhai (Guilin) Auction Co., Ltd. said on the 28th that the Rongbaozhai (Guilin) 2020 Guangzhou Autumn Cultural Relics and Artworks Auction will start on December 6 at the Eastanton Hotel in Guangzhou. Among them, "Gu Ruozhou Tibetan WenZheng Ming Shan Shui Hand Scroll" is particularly interesting among more than 600 lots, and the starting price of the painting is 3 million yuan to 5 million yuan.

The sound of the landscape will always be passed on. Shen Bei, a well-known painter and critic of calligraphy and painting, said in his appreciation of "Gu Ruozhou Tibetan Wen Zhengming Landscape Hand Scroll" that in the history of Chinese collection, the literati collection is a relatively special group, and their choice of collections relies more on their own aesthetics and feelings, and the traditional Chinese literati interest and profound heritage are passed down from generation to generation in these collections, which is fascinating, and "Gu Ruozhou Tibetan Wen Zhengming Landscape Hand Scroll" is a typical representative of this inheritance.

After combing through Gu Fang's life's deeds, Shen Bei learned that this was an ordinary, loyal and kind painter, and after seeing the prosperity of the capital and emerging, he could still follow his teacher Wang Yi, who was more than a year old, back to the small town of Jiangnan and accompany him to his old age. Shen Bei said that in this hand scroll, Gu Fang said in the inscription that "There are sellers of this volume in Beijing", which shows that the painting was purchased between the twenty-eighth year of Kangxi and the thirty-seventh year of Kangxi, in the period in Beijing.

This hand-scroll is colored on silk and is 340 cm long and 34 cm wide. Shen Bei pointed out that there is no inscription or drop before and after the hand scroll, and only the Zhu Wen white seal with "Zheng Ming" at the end of the scroll should have been cut in the process of transmission. It is very common for hand scrolls to be cut into several pieces and sold in the process of being passed down, and often one work becomes two or more, which will bring greater benefits to the seller. This hand scroll should be the second half of the work, which is typical of the WenzhengMing "Detailed Text" period.

Shen Bei pointed out that the whole work of the hand-scroll depicted the grand scenery of the spring countryside, peach red willow green, babbling streams, some people boating, some people encountering in the mountains, and some people playing against each other in the covered bridge. The picture is layered, dense and elegant, light and slightly green, which is also a major feature of Wen Zhengming's paintings. The rolling mountain stone is dense and clear with a pen, layered with light ink thirst pens, the lines are clear, the beautiful but imposing, the distant mountains and hills are lightly dyed with flower blue and lightly supplemented by light ink outline... Throughout the whole hand scroll, it is leisurely and simple without losing its subtlety, elegant and quiet and artistically long-lasting.

For Gu Fang, this hand scroll is a spiritual guide and an aesthetic inheritance. It is precisely because of this that the essence of traditional Chinese literati painting has been passed on to this day, which is the biggest significance of our viewing of this hand scroll today. Shen Bei said. (End)
