On June 22, Mile City held the opening ceremony of Zhang Chong's former residence, and the newly carefully arranged Former Residence of Zhang Chong was officially opened to the public.
Maitreya Zhang Chong's former residence
Zhang Chong is an outstanding member of the Communist Party of China, a loyal communist fighter, a great patriot, an outstanding representative of the Yi people, and a former vice chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, which is the pride of the people of Yunnan. Zhang Chong's former residence is located in Songke Village, Shemu Village Committee, Dongshan Town, Mile City, 48 kilometers away from Mile City. The former residence is a courtyard civil structure, double-slope roof building, 3 main rooms, a pair of halls on the left and right ears, 3 halls in the east and west halls, the whole building covers an area of about 630 square meters, which is a typical "one indian" traditional residential building in central Yunnan. The exhibition of the former residence is divided into 4 parts: "Preface", "Chronology of Zhang Chong's Memorabilia", "Life Deeds" and "Afterword", of which Zhang Chong's life deeds are the main ones, using the forms of physical exhibitions, graphic explanations, and model displays, and telling the glorious and heroic deeds of Zhang Chong's life in detail in 7 sections. In December 2003, the former residence was included in the sixth batch of provincial-level cultural relics protection units in Yunnan Province, in March 2011, it was announced as a revolutionary site in Honghe Prefecture, and in 2021, it was included in the first list of immovable revolutionary cultural relics in Yunnan Province.

Liang Lingyun, secretary of the Mile Municipal Party Committee, together with Zhang Chong's son and Zhang Xun, a retired teacher at Yunnan Nationalities University, jointly inaugurated the former residence.
After the opening of Zhang Chong's former residence, Mile City will further protect and make good use of the revolutionary historical and cultural heritage, build a demonstration base for patriotic education and national unity and progress education, carry forward and cultivate the national spirit with patriotism as the core, and promote the study and education of party history to go deep and solid, and see the results in action.
