With no too much understanding of Turpan and mistakenly hit the Jiaohe River, just one glance was shocked by this ancient city full of devastation, and happiness came too suddenly. Once one of the most prosperous cities on the Silk Road, jiaohe ancient city, known as the "Pompeii of the East", is the only most complete Han Dynasty city site in China, even through the millennium, you can also feel its golden charm.
Jiaohe Ancient City was founded and built by the Cheshi people from the 2nd century BC to the 5th century BC, the most prosperous and developed in the Southern and Northern Dynasties and the Tang Dynasty, and in the 9th to 14th centuries, due to years of war, Jiaohe City gradually declined and finally was abandoned due to serious damage.
The prosperity of the past has slowly ended in the evolution of history, and now it is devastated. The non-stop wind day and night is mixed with sand and stones like a sharp knife carving these magical earthen buildings, bringing not only visual impact to future generations, but also a kind of isolated empty inspiration. There are few tourists along the way, surrounded only by the sound of the wind, and the ancient city stands quietly and tepidly. But the ravines under your feet are telling, the flying sand in the sky is telling, and the walls of the house that can hardly be seen in its original state are also telling: As long as you come, I will tell you the story.
The most amazing thing is its construction technique, which is not stacked with bricks and tiles like traditional ancient buildings, but uses the method of "reducing the soil and leaving the wall" to pull out inch by inch into the ground. From the general ruins, the more ancient and different the age, the older the Jiaohe Old City is, the newer the next the age. In the time of its prosperity and development, one ethnic group withdrew from the river, and another ethnic group replaced it, digging down on the original premises. In this way, he kept digging and digging, and ShengSheng carved Jiaohe City into a huge sand table sculpture, which was a city directly carved out of the earth.
It can be said that the city is a huge ancient sculpture, and its architectural craftsmanship is unique not only in China, but also rare in foreign countries, reflecting the intelligence and great creativity of ancient laborers.
What we see along this ancient Silk Road today is that the years have only left the ruins of the "sunset remnants of the Han Family Palace", but history has forever carried the glory of "the Silk Road flowers and rain flying dreams".
