Recently, the reporter saw in the Yangzhou Municipal Archives that there is a group photo of the underground workers of the Communist Party of China in Yangzhou City (formerly Jiangdu County) taken on September 6, 1950, and in this five-inch black and white photo, 21 people are arranged in three rows. This is the first group photo of underground workers found in Yangzhou, which is of great value for the study of the party's underground work in Yangzhou. In the photo, Director Hu han is Hu Han, who was once deputy director and director of the Yangzhou Municipal Public Security Bureau. Previously, from March 1948 to January 1949, Hu Han was the chief of the Liaison and Intelligence Section of the Social Department of the Second Local Committee of the Soviet-Anhui Border Region of the Communist Party of China, and was the direct commander of the underground work in Yangzhou.
After the victory of the War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression, Yangzhou, as the central city of northern Jiangsu, was highly valued by all the CPC organizations of all walks of life, and various forces acted independently; successively, the Working Group of the Urban Work Department of the Huainan District Party Committee stationed in Yangyang, the Underground Students' Federation from the Shanghai Underground Party, and other organizations carried out struggles, and opened up an underground communication line from Shanghai to Huainan in Yangzhou Xixiang. The dark war before dawn and the "walking on the tip of the knife" of the underground party members made an important contribution to the complete return of the ancient city to the hands of the people.

Yangzhou Municipal Military Control Commission Circular Order
The Social Department of the Second Prefectural Committee of Central China directly arranged the arrangement
In the spring of 1948, the strategic offensive of the People's Liberation Army won a great victory. Under this situation, the Joint Intelligence Section of the Social Department of the Second Prefectural Committee of central China is determined to open up the underground work situation in Yangzhou. In March 1948, in order to find a party organization, Jiang Jian went to the Xinghua base area with Gong Qingyun, who asked to work in the Liberated Areas. Hu Han, head of the Joint Intelligence Section of the Ministry of Social Affairs, met with them and asked them to return to Yangcheng to work.
Hu Han explained to Jiang Jian the work tasks after returning to Yangcheng and agreed to make contact again after three months. After Jiang Jian returned to Yangcheng, he discussed with Wu Zhe, Zhu Yuanhong, Ding Zongming, Yang Suijiu, Gao Jiaxiu, and others on how to implement the work. However, three months later, before Hu Han received a letter, Jiang asked Zhu Yuanhong and Ding Zongming to go to Yangzhuang in Jiangdu County to find Hu Han. Hu asked Ding Zongming to stay in the base area and wait, and sent Zhu Yuanhong back to the city to take Jiang Jian, Yang Suijiu, and Gao Jiaxiu to the Liberated Areas to accept the task.
In early November of the same year, Jiang Jian received a letter from Hu Han asking jiang Jian to quickly go to the countryside to accept a new task. At the same time, Yang Suijiu was transferred to work in the Joint Intelligence Section. After Jiang Jian rushed to Yangzhuang, Hu conveyed to him the task of the prefectural party committee on liberating Yangzhou. The next day, after Jiang Jian returned to Yangyang, he and Lu Qin and others jointly studied and discussed the implementation of various tasks assigned by the Joint Intelligence Section, and they prepared for the liberation of the ancient city of Yangzhou.
Break into the enemy's interior to understand the enemy's situation

In November 1948, Jiang Jian arranged for Jiang Jincheng and Fu Weishu to secretly bring leaflets to Wuxi and send them to various industrial and commercial circles in Yangcheng. In December, with the basic masses as the target of propaganda, leaflets were secretly distributed to publicize the Party's urban policy and the victorious situation in the War of Liberation in the name of the "Second Commissioner's Office of Central China". At the beginning of January 1949, in the name of the "Central China Administrative Office", he wrote a letter to Xu Gongmei, Wang Fenglou, Xu Jiaqiao, Geng Jiaolu, Wang Shaotang and other well-known personalities to publicize the situation and explain the policies, hoping that they would contribute to the liberation of Yangzhou. After their mutual communication, it has played a certain role in stabilizing people's hearts.
In July 1948, when Jiang Jian, Ding Zongming, and others were in the Joint Intelligence Section, Hu Han proposed that in order to grasp the enemy's dynamics, someone should break into the enemy's interior. In October of the same year, Xue Feng broke into the Jiangdu County Office of the Central Command, and then through Liu Dezhao, the head of the action team of the room, he found the position of the leader of the student movement, and two other underground staff members, Zhang Tianxiao and Jin Peng, assisted in the work. During this time, Xue Feng learned about the activities of the military command and the evacuation and deployment of secret agents. Gao Jiaxiu's neighbor was a kuomintang Jiangdu county government newspaper clerk, and Gao became friends with her to understand her internal dynamics. Dong Mingyu's family lives in Muxiang Lane, and the residents on the opposite door are the commissioners of the Zhongtong County Office, and Dong often goes to Gong Jia to pull the family routine. Dong's next-door neighbor was a small grocery store, and there was a Kuomintang officer who often went shopping, and Dong took the initiative to talk to him, and unconsciously touched many situations. Cai Yi's older brother Cai Yingwei worked in the military section of the Kuomintang Jiangdu County Government, and Cai Yi also entered the military section through Cai Yingwei's connections. Taking advantage of this favorable condition, we have obtained a lot of military intelligence and obtained "national identity cards, etc.", which are very much needed things in the Liberated Areas.
In November 1948, Hu Han conveyed instructions from the Prefectural Committee to quickly draw up a map of the kuomintang troops' military deployment around Yangcheng. Jiang Jian organized more than 20 people, sliced and wrapped up, and drew separately. Slender West Lake, Pingshan Hall line, in the past is a beautiful scenic area, now is a sparse scene, everywhere bunkers are dense, sentry is lined up, if anyone goes to visit, it is bound to attract the attention of the enemy. Dong Mingyu and Zha Jingxian (female) pretended to be cousins, bought bags of peanuts and rice, ate and watched while walking, and met a monk on the road to talk and inquire, and finally completed the task. Jiang Jian and Ji Bin once went to this area to learn about the enemy's military equipment and garrison. After the sketches are concentrated, they are summarized by Zhao Zuhuai and Liu Zongyou, students of Yangzhou Middle School. After the picture was made, Gao Jiaxiu and Jiang Jincheng were sent to the Liberated Areas. In order to prevent accidents on the way, Xue Feng also obtained a "secret agent card" for Jiang Jincheng in the Jiangdu County Office of the Central Command, and the enemy sentry was immediately released.

Establishment of the Shaobo Secret Traffic Station
Shaobo Town is located on the side of the ancient canal, which is the throat of Yangcheng to the Liberated Area of Northern Jiangsu. At the south end of the town, there is a Ye Xingyuan iron nail shop. His daughter-in-law is Lu Shuxian, who is in charge of secret transportation work.
The secret traffic work here, the Joint Intelligence Section of the Social Department of the Second Prefectural Committee of Central China, was issued to the Yangcheng Liaison Intelligence Personnel. Its task was to transmit intelligence and cover the safe passage of comrades passing through the Kuomintang checkpoint. At that time, there were three disciplines: 1. do not ask the name of the person who came; 2. do not ask where they came from; 3. do not ask where the person is going, but only ask what car and boat the person took and the sign and code of contact. Here, Lu Shuxian welcomed groups of young people, students, and democrats to the Liberated Areas, and also passed on some important information, and also helped cover the revolutionary fighters in the Liberated Areas and send them through the checkpoint to Yangzhou City.
The situation in the War of Liberation developed rapidly, the Kuomintang troops were frequently mobilized, the town of Shaobo was in chaos, and the news of the victory of the People's Liberation Army was quietly spread among the masses. Ye Xingyuan's nail shop still insisted on opening its doors, the house was very empty, it became a gang room of the Kuomintang army, and several Kuomintang officers often came here to chat. Lu Shu was skillful in coping and calm. Once, when four young women of seventeen or eighteen came to the shop, three other enemy troops were present, and they were stunned. However, Lu Shuxian did not panic at all, smiling at the young women, and several young women who came were also very calm and did not show flaws. The next day, Lu sent them to help the boat.
The most risky one was when Lu Shuxian sent yangzhou underground workers to carry military maps through the checkpoints. It was one day at the end of 1948, gao Jiaxiu and Jiang Jincheng, who had been sent from Yangcheng, to Shaobo with the map of the enemy's arming in Yangzhou, and Lu Shuxian escorted them through the Checkpoint of the Kuomintang army. The military map is large in size, and it is not easy to use the secret writing method to deal with it, so the map is folded into a long strip, placed in a trouser belt, and tied to Gao Jiaxiu. They gave a full estimate of what might happen and discussed countermeasures. Gao and Jiang were resting in the store, while Lu Shuxian was outside observing the enemy's movements. That afternoon, Lu saw the enemy sentry outside the town leading to Yangzhuang (where the Second Prefectural Committee was located), and there was only one enemy soldier. She took the opportunity to lead them through the level. Originally, when she was sent here, she could return to Shaobo Town, but they saw in the distance that there was another artillery tower in the northeast direction, and it was estimated that there must be a checkpoint for the Kuomintang army there, and Lu decided to send this post again. When they came to the sentry, the enemy troops must search their bodies and check, and Lu repeatedly greeted them, indicating that they were relatives of the family, but the enemy soldiers still forcibly searched everyone. Just as the enemy soldiers reached out and inserted their hands into Gao Jiaxiu's waist, Lu Was in a hurry, took out a bunch of banknotes, grabbed the enemy soldier's hand, and stuffed the banknote in the palm of the enemy soldier's hand, while blocking Gao Jiaxiu, smiled and said to the enemy soldier: "People are big girls, you can't check like this." The enemy soldier saw qian's eyes open, and then he waved his hand and let Gao and Jiang pass the checkpoint.
