網管軟體 OpenNMS 推出1.8版，獲選為 SourceForge 2010 六月 Project of the Month

嗯，OpenNMS Stable 1.8 終于推出了，有不少新功能，可以參考  New in OpenNMS 1.8

另外，OpenNMS 自由軟體專案被選為 SourceForge.net: Project of the Month, June 2010 ，我随手選幾個重點：

* 2000年三月在 SourceForge 注冊，專案編号 4141 （沒錯，已經十年了！）

* 2004 成立 The OpenNMS Group 公司，提供技術服務，目前已經在24個國家有客戶 了。

* 客戶有多大？文章中舉了幾個：

1. Papa Johns Pizza: "At Papa Johns Pizza, they have been using OpenNMS for years to monitor a billion dollar internet product line . Currently, they are extending OpenNMS remote monitors into every one of their 2500 domestic stores ."

2. Swisscom Hospitality Services: "Swisscom Hospitality Services provides internet access to hotels, conferences and other public places throughout Europe. They are monitoring 52,000 devices with a single instance of OpenNMS ." (PowerOp: 這一個好像就是我抱怨過 爆貴 的 Swisscom Eurospot ，偏偏很多旅館裡面上網都靠這家 XD)

3. Rackspace: "Rackspace Managed Hosting has over 70,000 customers in data centers from

London, throughout the US, to Hong Kong . In each one OpenNMS is used to

insure that clients network services are operational and responsive." （PowerOp: Rackspace 好像是蠻有名的虛拟主機服務）

4. New Edge Networks: "At New Edge Networks, they have integrated OpenNMS performance graphs directly into their customer portal. They are collecting 1.2 million

data points concerning bandwidth, errors and other information -- every

five minutes ."

老話一句，Free / Open Source Software 是有商機的，隻是我天資魯鈍，還沒找到，目前純粹還是玩好玩的 XD
