首先明确TIM的架構如下：

1.資料庫伺服器

TIM将交易資料和曆史資料放置在資料庫伺服器内，一個關系型資料庫存放了目前和曆史狀态的相關資料。

2.目錄伺服器

TIM将被管理的identities的目前狀态放到一個LDAP目錄中，這些資訊包括使用者的帳戶資訊群組織資訊。

3.Tivoli Directory Integrator

用來同步存在不同目錄、資料庫、以及應用程式中的 identity 資料的。TDI用來對應用程式和目錄資源間進行同步和管理資料交換。

4.WebSphere Application Server

WebSphere Application Server是WebSphere中的主要元件，WebSphere Application Server運作一個Java虛拟機，提供了應用程式的運作環境。它也提供了安全通信、登入、消息傳遞等服務。

5.HTTP server and WebSphere Web Server plug-in

HTTP伺服器使通過浏覽器就可以管理TIM，TIM要求安裝WebSphere Web Server plug-in

6.TIM adapters

這是一個軟體元件，它提供了一個被管理資源和TIM Server之間的接口。一個adapter對被管理資源相當于一個可信的虛拟管理者，提供了諸如建立帳号、中止帳号等典型的管理者功能。

1.基本安裝步驟：

1.确定TIM部署的拓撲方案。

2.確定每個作業系統實體上滿足TIM的要求。

3.確定資料庫已經安裝并進行了配置。

4.確定TDS已經安裝并進行了配置。

5.確定TDI已經安裝并進行了配置。

6.确定WAS已經可以運作。

7.安裝TIM，單伺服器或者是叢集安裝。
