It was the day before Christmas and Santa was ill. In the cold winter wind he had caught a bad chill.
再过一天就是圣诞节了，可我们的圣诞老人却感冒了。
原来是那冬天里一阵寒风侵袭了他这渐老的身躯。
Will Christmas be cancelled?
Will it come to that?
“Never!” cried Santa. “Let’s call Pete the Cat!”
圣诞节会取消？
今年还会过圣诞？
“不！”圣诞老人嚷道“必须得给皮特猫打个电话！”
Santa asked Pete to deliver the toys to all the good girls and to all the good boys.
圣诞老人让皮特带些玩具给所有可爱懂事的女孩们和活泼机灵的男孩们。
“I’ll do it!” said Pete.
“And although I am small, at Christmas we give, so I’ll give it my all.”
“就交给吧！”皮特说。
“虽然我人单力薄，但在这个互助互爱的圣诞节到来之际，我会尽心尽力的。”
Give it your all, give it your all. At Christmas we give, so give it your all.

Pete jumped in his minibus and started to roll.
皮特跳上了他的车，然后出发了。
“公路旅行开始了！”皮特嚷道
“第一站，北极。”
The reindeer were waiting to give Pete a tow,
So he packed up the presents and told them to go.
驯鹿都在等着给皮特运送礼物，
所以皮特在打包了这些礼物后，就立马告诉了他们要把礼物运往哪里。
The minibus flew, just like in a movie.
Pete the Cat cried, “This is totally groovy!”
这个迷你汽车飞得好快，电影里的画面成真了耶。
猫皮特叫道“这太棒了！”
“I can do it!”
Said Pete, “and although I am small, at Christmas we give, so I’ll give it my all.”
“就交给我吧！”皮特说。
Give it your all, give it your all.
At Christmas we give, so give it your all.

As the children were sleeping all snug in their beds, Pete and his reindeer appeared overhead.
孩子们舒舒服服地躺在床上睡觉的时候，皮特和他的驯鹿们从他们的屋顶飞过去了。
Straight down the chimney Pete flew in a dash, then back in his minibus quick as a flash.
皮特会拿着礼物以迅雷之势从烟囱口爬进去，在放好礼物后，又迅速地爬出烟囱，回到他的迷你汽车里。
Each time he delivered a holiday gift, he crossed off a name written on Santa’s list.
每当皮特送完一件假日礼物，他就在圣诞老人给他的名单上划一下。
Santa’s list was so big, and Pete felt so small.
But at Christmas we give, so he gave it his all.
圣诞老人的名单好长好长，而且皮特又是一个人在做这件事。
“但在这个互助互爱的圣诞节到来之际，我也会尽心尽力。”
At the very last minute they reached the last house.
Pete dashed in and out just as quiet as a mouse.
在圣诞节到来的最后一刻，皮特终于赶到了最后一家。
皮特出出进进地比老鼠还安静。
Then right at the break of the new Christmas Day，
Pete and his reindeer were flying away.
正好在圣诞节的钟声敲响的那一刻，皮特和他的驯鹿回家了。
Back at the North Pole, old Santa was waiting. The elves and the townsfolk were all celebrating.
回到北极的时候，圣诞老人正在等他。
精灵和居民都在庆祝。
Santa was dressed in his red coat and hat and cried，
“Hip hip hooray for our friend Pete the Cat.”
圣诞老人穿着红色的大衣，带着个红帽子，叫道：
“热烈欢迎我们的朋友皮特猫。”
“I did it!”
Said Pete. “And although I am small, in the spirit of Christmas I gave it my all!”
“我做到了！”
皮特说道“虽然我人单力薄，但在圣诞节精神的帮助下，我真的是尽心尽力了。”
