Longest Palindromic Substring Java

Given a string S, find the longest palindromic substring in S. You may assume that the maximum length of S is 1000, and there exists one unique longest palindromic substring.

Have you been asked this question in an interview? 

   Idea: Nested loop:

    Outer loop: i start from back to front

    inner loop: j start from i to the end

Stated more formally below:

Define P[i][j] ← true iff

the substring Si … Sj is a palindrome,that means

Si = Sj and P[i][j] ← ( P[ i+1, j-1 ]

otherwise false.
