Few players have been able to become legends at two different clubs, but Villa has done so in Barcelona and Valencia. In 2005, 23-year-old Asturias striker Villa came to Valencia and scored 129 goals for the club in the following five seasons, becoming the top five players in the club's history.

Long-term transfer rumors accompanied Villa, who eventually moved to Barcelona for 40 million euros in the summer of 2010 and lifted the Hercules Cup with Spain in the same year. Villa's first season in Barcelona helped the team win la Liga and the Champions League. Arguably this is one of Barcelona's most successful transfers in recent years.
