San Sebastián is located in northern Spain, bordering the Gulf of Biscay and just 20 kilometers from the French border. The new city stretches along both sides of the river to the seaside beach and belongs to the Basque Country. In 2011, the city of San Sebastián and the polish city of Wrocław were named the 2016 European Capital of Culture. The economy is dominated by tourism and commerce, and it has also become one of the most popular travel destinations in Spain.
