The Three Ladies and Aratha Khan
I have specifically interviewed some of the older generation of Mongolians and younger Mongols in the Tumo River, who did not know that there was once a great khan in the "Tumo River" who dominated the northern grasslands, Alata Khan, who created a hundred years of peace between Menghan and Han... Therefore, feeling full of crisis, I planned to shoot a documentary of the hero "Uttar Khan", and during this period I received strong support from some experts and scholars, so I learned to read a large number of historical materials about him. Today, I will not talk about his life for the time being, but let's take a paragraph to talk about it.
On May 15, 1578 (lunar calendar), Aratha Khan, the head of the 30,000 households on the right wing of Mongolia, led 80,000 people from Tumut to Qinghai to meet the third Dalai Lama, Sonam Gyatso, under the influence of the famous Guru Axing Lama. Aratha Khan presented to the master "seven treasures and eight treasures made of five hundred and two silver, thirty-two gold bowls filled with precious stones, ten ends of good satin, ten ends of five-colored satin, ten white horses of various colors and silver inlaid with golden saddles, five thousand coins, a total of 10,000 valuable items", or Ordos Wanhu - Chechen Hongtaiji delivered a welcome speech, in which he recalled the scene of Kublai Khan meeting Master Basipa, converting to Buddha, and sharing peace with the masses, and summed up the historical lesson of "evil deeds and cannibalism" after the loss of Buddhism!
During the meeting, Aratha Khan announced the abolition of shamanism, the conversion to yellow religion, and the implementation of a policy of parallel church and state in Mongolia, as well as the formulation of a number of laws and policies to protect Buddhism, as follows:
1. One hundred and eight children selected from the tribe will be sent to various monasteries in Tibet to study Buddhism.
2. Faithfully follow the teachings of the scriptures, meditate month by month year, and fast with eight levels.
3. Abolish the bad practice of slaughter and burial.
4. It is strictly forbidden for laymen to beat and ridicule monks.
5. Stipulate the titles of lamas at all levels and their treatment in terms of political economy
6. Lamas must fast for three days a month and forbid killing and hunting.
7. Lamas are not allowed to take wives, and violators are painted black with canon law, and ordered to reverse the temple three turns, and to be deposed and punished.
8. In accordance with the old system formulated by the Three Kings of Tibet and the Great Khan of Kublai Khan of Mongolia, the Ten Virtues were established, and the political and religious methods were established in parallel.
(9) It is forbidden for any monks to go out hunting and to be exempt from taxes.
10. Sculpt Buddha statues, translate sutras, and build temples in Mongolia.
Since then, there has been a brief period of peace and prosperity in Mongolia, and the Aratha Khan, who has killed all his life, has also led his descendants and more than 10,000 people all day long, paying homage to the Buddha day and night... Witnessing the Mongols, who are now gradually losing their traditions and beliefs, I wonder if they will still exist a hundred years from now. Otherwise, where can I be used by a Han monk like me to sort out this historical context? I sometimes joke that "I was probably a Mongol in my previous life, maybe a member of the family of the Great Khan".
Aratha Khan is a great Khan after Genghis Khan and Dayan Khan, who has made great contributions to He khan, his stories are too many, and because his body is really difficult to support, so we will write slowly in the future, I hope that some of his things can be filmed when I am in good health.
