August 16, 2021 is Mr. Huang Yongyu's 98th birthday, and the third part of "The Wandering Man of the River Without Sorrow" has also been printed by the factory under editing and will be published soon. So far, the People's Literature Publishing House has successively published Huang Yongyu's 840,000-word "Suzaku City", the 1.3 million-word "Eight Years" and the 480,000-word "Walk Reading" (1 and 2), and Huang Yongyu's creation continues. It has been eight years since Huang Yongyu published his first "Suzaku City" in August 2013.
At the age of ninety-eight, Huang Yongyu continued to write a "day reading" career, recording his life more than seventy years ago, adding a new chapter to the series of novels "The Wandering Man of the River Without Sorrow". "The Wandering Man of the River Without Worries" began when Zhang Xuzi was two years old, writing about his wife, grandfather, father and mother, aunt and cousins as a big family, and the four seasons of the suzaku ancient city where they lived, customs and folk customs, and various characters... It is the prosperity and glory of the ancient city in its heyday. When Suzaku City gradually declined, twelve-year-old Zhang Xuzi also had to drift along the mother river to the vast world outside, eight years of wandering adventures, when the nation resisted foreign humiliation, the teenager wandered alone in the southeast of Fujian, saw the marine civilization and other human feelings, and struggled to grow into an adult.
This river of life is no longer "worry-free", but full of sorrows of home, homeland, and flesh and bones. "Walk Reading" is a "song of wandering artists", stretched embarrassment, disappointment in embarrassment, Huang Yongyu wrote out Zhang Xuzi's daily life in detail, still maintaining a witty and humorous style - diligent in art, friends' good deeds to help, so that Zhang Shuzi did not sloppily see life day by day.
In "Day Reading", this young man who carved woodcuts saved a ticket by teaching primary school for half a year on the edge of Xiamen, and landed in Shanghai alone, and the future days were all based on courage, luck and strength. Eating, living, wearing the problem of hoodhood to cover the brain first to cover people, not to mention the boundless bustling city, born in Suzaku, Minnan Zhang Xuzi even crossed the road is a problem, traffic is frightening, simply dare not move... The secret of life is indeed like the brother friend encouraged him to say: "Don't look at the crowd on the car, squeeze it and loosen it"?
"If you want to write history, I'm afraid it's this kind of long-distance history, right?"
Huang Yongyu began to create woodcuts in the 1930s and 1940s, and later expanded to oil painting, Chinese painting, sculpture, craft design and other art categories, which has an important position in the field of contemporary Chinese art. Representative works include the chromatic woodcut "Ashima" and fine art works such as owls and lotus flowers. His stamps for the Year of the Monkey and the packaging of the "Alcoholic" wine are all quite ingenious.
Huang Yongyu is a native of Xiangxi Phoenix, and the famous writer Shen Congwen is his cousin and uncle. Huang Yongyu was the ancestor of "Bagong", responsible for the affairs of the "Temple of Literature", and the ancestral "Yantian" cultivation was inherited by the family of readers. His grandfather worked with Xiong Xiling, a cabinet premier during the Republic of China period in Phoenix, and his father and mother served as the principals of Phoenix Boys and Girls Primary Schools in the 1920s, and were both early Communist Party members. With the multi-ethnic settlement and the isolation of the border areas, the phoenix formed some special customs; later, for political, military, and cultural reasons, the power of Chen Quzhen, the "king of Xiangxi", gradually lost local autonomy, and the life of the Phoenix people changed.
Huang Yongyu had to leave his hometown at the age of twelve to study at the Jimei School in Xiamen, and soon after, the War of Resistance broke out in full swing, and Huang Yongyu began a wandering man, saying that he "lived by picking up the remnants of the roadside", following the people to hide from the Japanese, wandering in southeast Fujian, and walking through "thousands of miles" with his feet; he worked as a small worker in a porcelain factory, an artist in the drama propaganda team, an art teacher, and an official in a cultural center. In an emergency, I earned money and made friends by relying on a "silhouette" kung fu.
Huang Yongyu's experience was very bumpy, he retrieved his life from the Japanese bomb three times, and in order to survive, he walked with a cabin corpse and was almost caught "Zhuang Ding". Many years ago, an elderly and friend said this to the teenage Huang Yongyu: "The novel of the British novelist Diegenji, called "The Rest of the Life of a Piece of Meat", writes a complex story of a child's growth. I think the title of the book is more appropriate for you, you are the real 'piece of meat'. ”
"Living so old, often suffering from these memories", Huang Yongyu, who is ninety-eight years old this year, really shares a fate with a hundred years of history. In the new book "Walk Reading", Huang Yongyu has a self-condition: "I don't know, I don't know where to get and enlightenment in my life." After being deceived, do not cry pain, do not complain, and even improper is a lesson, and use your own stupidity as a joke to entertain your friends. I don't do a similar performance of borrowing wine to pour sorrow, and let my friends share my little pain and itch. ”
This is probably also the origin of the three words "No Worries River". When "Suzaku City" was published, Huang Yongyu's dedication to the reader was: love, mercy, gratitude, which is also the theme of his writing "The Wandering Man of the River without Worry". Although he won a reputation for woodcuts and paintings, Huang Yongyu regarded literature as his favorite "profession". When he first published poetry in the newspaper as a teenager of fourteen or fifteen years old, he later said in an article recalling Shen Congwen: "If you want to write history, I am afraid it is this kind of long-river history, right? ”
The "relics" of culture are specially stored for photos
The various characters in "WalkIng Out" and the culture of the times they cultivated together constitute the images of that special era.
"In the eight years of the War of Resistance, the comic book industry and the woodcut industry were busy. Zhang Guangyu, Ye Qianyu, Ding Cong, Liao Bingjie, Lu Zhiyu, Zhang Wenyuan, Mi Gu, Zhang Leping, Te Wei, Chen Yanqiao, Li Hua, Xinbo, Ye Fu, Zhu Minggang, Zhang Yangxi, Wang Qi, Zhao Yannian, Zhang Xigao, Ah Yang, Shao Keping... For eight years, these people have been busy to death, contributing to the overthrow of the Japanese invaders, and some are still hiding from the pursuit of secret agents." In "Walking Reading", the reader follows the footsteps of the prologue, from Ganzhou to Shangyou to Guangzhou to Xiamen to Shanghai to Taipei to Hong Kong, and can see the temperament of a group of artists and cultural people, as well as the unique customs and customs of various places.
There are a variety of characters in "Walk Reading":
The editorial written by Chen Zuoche, the chief writer of The Kaibao Newspaper, said: "The theme has many details to foil, vivid and powerful. You can't measure how much affection he has for his friends in his belly. He is not sugar cane, he is absinthe. ”
Woodcut by Liu Lun, a professor at Sun Yat-sen University and an old woodcarver: "Strict rules and exquisite lines and black and white relations... He saw through the clouds in the sky. ”
Lou Shiyi "translated Gorky's "Human World" is the most understandable and intimate."
Woodcarver Wheat Rod, his family members as "the venue of the Woodcarving Society." Be there happy, argue there, discuss important matters, hold elections, assign posts. The emotions are extremely rich and sincere. ”
Huang Yongyu also wrote a large number of ink and ink about Li Hua, Yu Suoya, Zhang Xiguo, Lu Zhixiu, Huang Pei, Wang Zengqi, Zang Kejia, Huang Miaozi, Cao Xinzhi of the Jiuye Sect, the female poet Chen Jingrong, and so on, these characters have their own temperaments. The "River without Worries" series depicts hundreds of characters, all of whom are known to the author, and they are recorded one by one, like the "relics" of culture, which are specially stored.
He was destined to live next door to the "fairy tale" for the rest of his life
"Walk Reading" clings to Zhang Xuzi, writing that he married his wife and assumed the responsibility of another person's thorough food and clothing, and Zhang Xuzi, who was "alive and jumping", truly entered the adult world. The previous Zhang Xuzi was still like a shallow stream, jumping freely. When it comes to "Walk-in", the solid food, clothing, shelter and transportation are in front of us, and we must live and fight the world with real knives and guns: in the great Shanghai, poverty is doubled, fear is doubled, caution is doubled, and strength is doubled.
"Day Reading" depicts the daily life of this poor young woodcarver: how he went to his friends, how he got his first payment, how he bought a pair of shoes to wear, how he got a rented house in the city and was overwhelmed... In the various activities of the prologue, the meal of the meal is particularly specific, so that the human body realizes that "one piece of food, one scoop of drink" is not easy to get.
"Walk Reading" also writes about the customs and human feelings of different places, and Zhang Xuzi has a special feeling everywhere he goes. When he first arrived in Shanghai, "The preamble found that although the road in the big city was flat, it was not as good as the road on the Suzaku side. Don't hang your feet, don't get strong. Far from it, I am not afraid, looking east and west, radio drama, foreign drums and trumpets, and I will arrive home in a flash. It's just that the shoes on the feet cost a lot." He likes Cantonese people: "The characteristics of all the shops, the guys, young and old, are straight-faced. Like Cantonese people as friends, at the beginning there will be a feeling of the face of the Guys on Guangzhou Wende Road, once they touch each other's 'laughing holes', that kind of sincerity, cheerfulness, and heat will suddenly burst out and become a long-lasting lifelong friendship. ”
"Walk-in" describes Zhang Xuzi as follows: He is destined to live next door to the "fairy tale" in his life. He's nothing like anyone. He was not a lone goose and had never let anyone abandon him. Not a donkey, no one has ever "chewed" on the sleeve. Not a wolf, he was alone. Not a happy quake, not a happy one. Not a crow, no mourning song ever sung. "Zhang Shuzi is an animal that looks like nothing—a platypus. Duck mouth, amphibious, full body hair, oviparous, breastfeeding... It is the most mischievous thing with biologists. ”
