This is a family outing that has not had time to do a strategy, and the day before the National Day we are still discussing going to Pucheng, Baishui and Heyang to see the ancient ruins of Dongfu and eat water basin lamb.
However, on the day of the National Day, the sun rose high, and it was suddenly decided that it was necessary to go south to the Qinling Mountains and go to the Liuba-Hanzhong line. Itinerary, walking and watching, adjusting at any time, this is the story of our big night rushing to Liuba City and Countryside just to find a place to stay, and it is difficult to take care of everything.
This is the first time I have been to Liuba, but the name Liuba has long been thunderous to me, and I have longed for this place for a long time.
On the way to Liuba, I excitedly planned to climb Zibai Mountain, go to Zhangliang Temple to see, take a walk on the famous Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway, and if you have the opportunity, it is best to visit the township southwest of Liuba, which is the highest and most mysterious place in Liuba Mountain...
However, when people are on the road, they are a little involuntary. First, there was a high-speed traffic jam, which caused us to arrive at Liuba and it was already dark, and it took a day on the road. Then there is the family together, everyone's interests are not the same, my interests, other people in the family are not interested... Therefore, in the end, only one of my "calculations" could be realized - "take a walk on the Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway".
The Qinling Mountains Road where ancient and modern mingle
The Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway, an old republic of China highway from Baoji in Shaanxi to Chengdu in Sichuan via Hanzhong, is also China's first war-ready highway to cross the Qinling Mountains and Daba Mountains from north to south.
Among them, this section of the road from Baoji through Fengxian and Liuba to Hanzhong is also called "Baohan Highway", which is about 170 kilometers long, and is built on the basis of the three Qinling Ancient Roads of Chencang Ancient Road, Lianyun Trail and Chu xie Trail, not only from north to south through the Qinling "Dragon's Ridge", there are also many ancient roads, ancient passes, and ancient battlefield ruins along the way - Dashanguan, Gufengzhou, Chaiguanling, Liufengguan, and this name alone makes people fascinated.
However, we took Liuba as the starting point and only walked this small section from Liuba to the exit of Hanzhong Baogu (Shimen Scenic Area), which is about 60 kilometers long, and is now the combined section of 316 National Highway and 244 National Highway.
From Liuba to the exit of Baogu, the ancient slope is a chute, the route is particularly simple, along the Chu River down the mountain can be, the entire route only passes through two district-level administrative districts, namely Liuba County and Hantai District. There are 4 township-level administrative districts, namely Wuguanyi Town, Madao Town, Qingqiaoyi Town and Hedongdian Town, of which the first 3 belong to the jurisdiction of Liuba County, and Hedongdian Town belongs to Hantai District.
You can guess from the names of these towns that in ancient times, they were all post stations on the ancient road. On the other hand, there are many stories that happened to it, such as the "Sima MistakenLy Cutting Shu" during the Warring States period, the "Ming Xiu Trail Dark Chen Cang" and "Xiao He Yue chasing Han Xin" during the Chu-Han War, and the "Zhuge Liang Northern Expedition" during the Three Kingdoms period, all of which happened on this road.
You can imagine how well this road is worth a walk.
Wuguanyi Town in the clouds
When I did step down this path, it certainly didn't disappoint me. The first town we met, Wuguanyi Town, let us stay for half a day.
Wuguanyi Town is located 12 kilometers southeast of Liuba County, at the intersection of National Highway 316, National Highway 244 and Baohan Expressway. I described this town in more detail in the previous article, because we lived in a village not far from the streets of Wuguanyi Town on the first night.
The town center of Wuguanyi Town is located in Jiangwozi Village, facing the mountain on one side and the BaoHe River on the other, the terrain is relatively narrow, the total length of the street is only two or three hundred meters, surrounded by green mountains on all sides, and the clouds are filled with mist early in the morning.
Originally, my impression here was only that there were more shops and inns, and the town government staff was more enthusiastic about serving tourists, but when we had a breakfast here, the memory of it was added, and the breakfast here was unexpectedly delicious.
People in the Hanzhong area are used to eating hot dough skin, vegetable tofu and soy milk in the morning, and Wuguanyi Town is no exception, and there are many small shops selling hot noodle skin on the street. When we arrived in town early in the morning, there were already many tourists in the town who had come to forage for food like us. One of the most eye-catching dough shops with the sign was crowded with people, and it was hard to find one. We turned out the door and found a small shop that was deserted and sat down.
I didn't expect much, just want to simply eat breakfast to fill my stomach. However, as soon as the rice comes up, the first bite of the goodwill value soars, the hot noodles are smooth and soft, the vegetable tofu is light and refreshing, and a little porridge is added to the soy milk, which is also very gratifying. The price is also very affordable, hot noodle skin is only 5 yuan, vegetable tofu is only 2 yuan, soy milk is 1 yuan.
If you do the math, we have eaten two meals in Liuba, both of which are low and delicious, I don't know if it is good luck, or the meals in Liuba are generally delicious and affordable.
Sudden encounter with "Wu Xiu Guan"
After dinner, we set off from the town and traveled south along the national highway to Hanzhong.
Because I think the car glass is a little dirty, about 2 kilometers later, we stopped in a farmhouse yard to wipe the glass, and accidentally found that there is a step road next to the house to go down to the Chu River, and after going to the river, we were surprised to find that this was an estuary where two waters meet.
It turned out that this was where the Wuguan River flowed into the Chu River.
The Wuguan River is a 34-kilometer-long river that originates in Guanghua Mountain in the northwest of Liuba and flows through the town of Huoyaodian, named after the "Wuxiuguan" river that joins the Bao River.
Historically, there was a fierce war here - the southern Song Dynasty Shaoxing three years (1133), Qinling was the western battlefield of the Song and Jin wars, the Jin commander Sariy led a large army to detour through Ankang to attack Hanzhong, along the Chu Chuan Road when the troops retreated by the Southern Song Dynasty general Wu Jiu set up an ambush at Wuxiu Pass, the Jin soldiers suffered heavy casualties, blocking the river, so that the river flowed backwards.
From the perspective of ancient warfare, the terrain here is indeed dangerous, with steep peaks and turbulent rivers. In particular, the Wuguan River comes from the west, inserts a foot horizontally, and forms a "D" estuary with the North and South Chu River, blocking the Chu River, and the stone peaks on both sides are almost cliffs, and there must be a bridge to cross the river.
He Jingming, one of the "Four Masters of Literature" of the Ming Dynasty, once traveled back and forth to the Chu Chu Dao and wrote the poem "Wu Guan":
Turn north to Liuba, and west to Wuguan.
A faint line, round of ten thousand heavy mountains.
According to some experts' field visits, the location of the ancient Wuxiu Pass should be on the peak at the corner of the BaoHe river and the Wuguan River, condescending, and the mouth of the Majestic River. In the past, there were stone mounds to climb to the top of the mountain, and I don't know if I can still find the ruins.
The landscape is too beautiful
The place of treacherous conquest in history is a landscape today.
The estuary where the Wuguan River meets the Bao River is very beautiful, and the clouds and mist rise in the mountains and the clear streams between the gorges. What's even more amazing is that there is also a layer of sand up to half a meter high at the mouth of the river, which is simply heaven for the little baby who travels with her, and can dig sand hard to play.
Compared with the Bao River, the Wuguan River is even more beautiful, the water quality is clear without a trace of impurities, and the shallow place is clear and bottomed, reflecting the white stone full of river beaches. Deeper places are beautiful jasper.
This is not only the intersection of the rivers, but also the intersection of the roads. On one side is the national highway and highway that crosses the Wuguan River and flows south to Hanzhong in the south, and on the other side is the Wuxue Road along the west of the Wuguan River to Huoyaodian Town and the Zibai Mountain Scenic Area.
It is only 8 km from the town of Huoyaodian. It is 52 kilometers away from the Zibai Mountain Scenic Area, and on the way, it will cross the Taiziling, which is now the hottest self-driving road in Liuba, and I heard that the autumn leaves are particularly beautiful.
It is also like an open-air museum of bridges from different eras. At this mouth, there are 4 bridges across the Wuguan River, the oldest of which is the bridge on the Old Sichuan-Shaanxi Highway, which was built in 1935 and has been used for more than half a century, and has now been abandoned as a non-admission attraction.
The newest is the Wuguanhe Bridge on National Highway 316 (244), which is connected to a short tunnel that passes through the tunnel and reaches Wuguanhe Village. This should be the bridges and tunnels that have been rerouted on the national highway in recent years, replacing the old bridge.
The latest are the two viaducts that span above our heads, which are the bridges on the Pohan Expressway. I heard that one or two meters above the Viaduct Wuguanyi Tunnel is the ancient road.
